EU/UK SIM Card for Travelling

I am travelling to Europe/UK for 5 weeks and is looking for an affordable SIM card (mobile data, sms/calls - unlimited if possible). What is a good recommendation?

If you're landing in the UK first, get a Three SIM card that has lots of data and works across Europe then just use that.

They have 20/50 GB SIMs. Make sure it supports EU roaming as not all of them do though.

The ones sold on Amazon.com.au are massively inflated rip off prices by third parties so avoid.

    • I am landing in France first.

  • Truphone eSIM Europe data only plan for 30days is AU$16 for 2GB, and AU$23 for 5GB …

So if you have an eSIM compatible phone, you can download a sim and activate when you're leaving.
Pair it with a Boost AU SIM, you have unlimited outgoing calls/SMS over VoLTE from the data sim.

the only thing missing would be a UK number to get incoming calls, so if thats important, then you need an actual UK plan.

  • Prob not exactly super helpful but I saw this deal yesterday from travelkon could be useful :D

  • I grabbed an Esim which works across Europe region - only data, no number associated with it. Many companies do it, I have used Airalo which seems a bit more on the expensive side but could set up in Australia. Been a pleasant experience so far.

  • I bought an Ubigi eSIM for Europe and UK last year. No issues, worked well.

  • Hi @iceteacake, what did you end up getting?
    Hope you can share…
