  • Cannot find on website for pick up at my local store, maybe only be available on the app…which I don't have.
    Thanks anyway.

  • -1

This may be targeted as i don't see it anywhere including the app

  • +1

    No bueno

    • +9

Imagine being so incredibly confident and so incredibly wrong.

      • It’s just 2 large chips and a 1.25l drink

No, on the app it's 3 large sides
      yes you can change them,
yes it's default to chips and drinks.

      • Can confirm. The third option will still be titled '1.25L Drink <Custom>' (for my app/location at least), but can seemingly be any large side.

        • Correct. I suspect they will remove the selection of “real” sides from the drink list as it appears to be an error

    • +4

Firstly a 1.25l drink is not a side.

A 1.25L drink is a large side, and you can swap it for chips / potato & gravy / coleslaw / etc. (and vice versa): https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/82856/101810/capture.p…

      at participating stores only

The group of 714 stores which have the deal are supposedly named "NAT excl TAS SB WLGFam". This presumably excludes Tasmania and whatever "SB" and "WLGFam" mean.

      online order only

This works on the website (https://www.kfc.com.au/menu) as well as the app.

      likely single time use

There is a limit of 10,000,000 uses of it across Australia (effectively unlimited), which is the same as the last time this deal was available.

similar to value burger box but you’re paying for slightly more chips and a drink for extra $3

One large chips is equivalent to two small chips, so the default selection of large sides does indeed equate to "an extra large side for $3" compared to Value Burger Box. Considering the current going price for large sides with the "2 for $5.95" deal, this is an ok deal if you were going to get a large side anyway.

If you value potato & gravy / coleslaw more than chips, this deal might be worth it - the large version of those sides are approximately 4.09x the size of the regular version.

      • +3

What annoys me is they don't treat gravy the same.

There is regular gravy - and if you swap out a large side for gravy… you get 1 x regular gravy.

        • This.
The struggle is real. Why no large gravy?

          • @Kuzdog: They stopped selling them a couple years back, don't think they sold a heap of them tbh

            • @freoleo: They can at least give out two regulars!

          • @Kuzdog: Why'd you want that much gravy? Like, potato and gravy I get but just a huge gravy tub?

            • @Grazz989: I usually get it in Cheap as Chips - split with my partner so we get 2 large sides each. So large chips with regular gravy.

              • @CodeXD: It's like 4x bigger though, not 2x as large as a regular, lol.

            • +1

@Grazz989: Didn’t expect to have to justify why more gravy is good but here we go: the regular size is too small. Probably just enough for 1 large chips. So if you get a shared meal you don’t get enough to go around.
And it’s the principle that you should be able to swap a a large potato and gravy for a large gravy.

              • +1

@Kuzdog: Lol my bad - my intention wasn't to ask you to justify that, but moreso why potato and gravy wasn't more popular with your family unit :)

                • @Grazz989: Ha ha all good.
Also their potato to gravy ratio is very inconsistent.

              • +1

                @Kuzdog: I agree fully
It's always annoyed me I can't swap a large side, to a large gravy or at least get two smalls…. preferably 4

      • +3

Your knowledge of KFC is quite impressive

      • A 1.25L drink is a large side, and you can swap it for chips / potato & gravy / coleslaw / etc. (and vice versa):

It’s technically a drink custom option that can be exploited to swap out for a side. It looks to me like an error that might get patched up eventually. It’s not a “real” side. But whatever

The group of 714 stores(gist.github.com) which have the deal are supposedly named "NAT excl TAS SB WLGFam". This presumably excludes Tasmania and whatever "SB" and "WLGFam" mean.

It’s at participating stores - Not all 714 stores! For example my local store does not have this offer

Not much of a bargain when you can get 4 burgers and 4 regular sides at $19.95 for the 'value burger box'. You're basically just paying an extra $3 for another large side (which is about what it's worth).

    • Value box is gone

This is pretty similar to that, 3 large chips probably more than 4 smalls

So pay a lil extra for a lil more chips

      • true but these large sides aren't very tempting tbh………

    • Thanks for the comparison.

  • -2

not that good when you can get 4pcs for 6.95 via the app hack

  • +4

Obligatory Cheap as Chips is still better value.

8 OR pieces, 6 nugs, 2 dipping sauce, 4 large sides

  • Can I get 4 x BBQ Bacon Stacker Burgers + "sides" under this offer ?

    • +1

      No, you can pick from:

      Original Recipe Burger
      Double Tender Burger
      Zinger Burger

  • So so deal

  • Popcorn chicken being discontinued. I read this today. Wonder if it's true.

    • +3

      That's in America

      • +3

        Oh thank goodness.

  • This is what a regular meal costs at my local chinese.

Well if you want the meal and if you want plain large rice.

  • The price shows up as $26.95 for me.

    • +1

      $22.95 is pick up price.

      • Ah, right. I didn't realise my current order was set to delivery.

        Thanks!

    • 4 isn't bad for delivery
otoh 27 aint much of a deal anymore
