  • Can PWR Lighthead be powered by any power bank?

    • +3

I was looking at this also.
Doesn't look like it. The connection at the rear appears to be compatible/proprietary with the Home Brand power banks they sell.
The power banks seem quite expensive and appear to be micro USB for charging the power banks themselves.
Nope for me, but the headlights are good value comparing with other sellers.

Looks like it's not designed to do that.. and also looks like the 'lighthead' doesn't have a mounting point, but instead the mount is on their proprietary 'PWR Bank'?

    • No, PWR lightheads can definintely only be used with the knog powerbanks.
They're pretty useless on their own, and a few retaillers have been advertising the 600L lighthead by itself. Really not sure why anyone would ever buy one, unless you're in the very small minority who bought the bluetooth speaker or camping light with a powerbank and then decided you wanted a bike light.
(and then you'd still have to buy the bike mount for the powerbank).

Maybe someone accidentally ordered too many from the factory.

Perfect, I can stick something on the back of my bike that blinds oncoming cars so they run into me. Safety first!

    • at 70 lumens you won't be blinding anybody. probably just a poor choice of name

      • Or a good choice if it allows a vulnerable road user to be seen - rather than not!

      • You can certainly blind other cyclists and pedestrians on a shared path (my pet hate…)
