Herringbone Tile Installation

Hey guys,

Anyone has done tiles with herringbone style installation?

I got few quotes ranging from $120-150sqm for installation only and $45/sqm for cement sheets, is this normal?

No wonder tradies are getting rich these days.

You can always do it yourself if you think the price is too high and it's easy work?

Sounds about right for a skilled tradesman. Herringbone is also a time consuming pattern.

Tilers are guaranteed bad knees and back by aged 50.

I hear many also have an Onlyfans and sell their used undies for $$$$.

    • You “hear” hey?

Yeah you got me. I am secretly cramming it in right now.

No surprise though right? Since we are all so "Woke" these days.

I did my splash back(subway tiles) in the kitchen at my old house. Put an ad on facebook market place and got a tiler to do it for $180. I bought the tiles, grout etc, prepped and cleaned up, He had it done in 2 days after his work day on his way home.

I had herringbone marble splashback done for about $230sqm. I supplied the tile and they supplied everything else. It came out looking great, but it's bloody expensive.

  • sounds cheap, can't believe there are still cowboys out there doing it for so little, is this cash in hand job?
would expect at least $250 a square for herringbone/chevron or anything non standard.
