Is PLE Eligible for Ryzen 5000 Series COH3 Offer?

Update:
It is a legit offer. There is a condition however stating ple only has limited number of tokens available and if exceeded, may not be able to fulfill. So if anyone is going forward, its better to check with them first if the advertised off is still valid.

G'day,
AMD has been running a promotion for Ryzen 5000 series found here.
I've seen ple.com.au as advertised the Ryzen 5000 processors with that promotion even-though ple is not on amd's participating retailers.

I wanted to know if anyone has purchased from ple and managed to redeem the offer or is that a fault on ple's website / false advertising.

Regards,

  • Probably best to ask PLE?
I imagine if they're advertising it, it's included.
The AMD promo is just a code, you don't need to submit an invoice or anything like that if I'm not mistaken

    • I did ask them, but the call goes to warehouse staff. They said there is a promotion but could not confirm if the deal is from amd or not.

      • Who else would the deal be from ? Intel ?

        • hence the forum post šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø. because iā€™m not sure if word from warehouse staff member would be accountable if it doesnt work šŸ˜…

          • @kaleidoscope: No retailer is going to create an offer like this, it is always the manufacturer, ie amd, if ple is not listed as part of the participating retailers then why risk it.

  • +1

    https://www.ple.com.au/AMD/CompanyofHeroes3#redemptioninstruā€¦

They have a handy guide listed on their website

  • This is a legit offer despite PLE is not listed on AMD's website as eligible retailer. The ple token was delivered soon after the purchase order was processed.

Redemption process set by AMD is a real pia though as you have to
    1) create amd rewards account
    2) Link your steam account into it
    3) download product verification tool to process the retailer token on a computer with cpu installed to get a coh community key.
    4) create coh community account & obtain the steam key
    5) Finally add the darn key on your steam account and download the game. sigh…

Word of advice. If you have TPM enabled with bitlocker turned on, make sure you have the recovery keys before booting up with new processor or you may need to re install the old cpu to get the system recovery keys.
