SanDisk SDCZ48-256G-U46 256GB Ultra USB 3.0 Flash Drive - Black. USB 3.0 enabled (USB 2.0 compatible).

Not the cheapest according to Camel Camel Camel (https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B00YFI1A66) but it seems cheapest at the moment? Can't find it cheaper for similar capacity with the usual candidates. Decent price IMO, if you can't wait.

Cheers..

In 2006 I lined up to buy a 1GB thumb drive for $49.
Man - that was cheap and huge!

Yeah and in 2002 $120 for a 128MB CompactFlash card for my Canon G2 camera. That was a "mates" special.
        Heady days.

Just last week I paid $26 for an nvme m.2 enclosure 10Gbps connection speed.

Now I cannot ever go back to thumb drives.

          • @Sheep Whisperer: Is NVME m.2 really much different to say a Samsung T7?

            • @YellowKnight: Not that much different in terms of performance, I can however put mine back into a desktop or laptop, which I'm not sure if any of the T7s can. That and I have several m.2 ssds doing nothing, since using them as for thumb drive duties omg… I just couldn't go back. 128 or 256 are great sizes, the T7S is okay for larger storage needs but I'm not sold on flash storage just yet for medium or long term.
