How to Find a Replacement Window Handle/Catch?

Some improper and rough use over time has weakened the plastic lip that seals an awning window. This incomplete seal let's noise and whistling from the wind in. Would anyone have an idea of how I can find a replacement? I've tried Bunnings and usual DIY parts places.

Right at the very end of the short video you can see the small plastic lip. It's not as clearly seen because it's camouflaged (I'm not talking about the bigger flap)

Thanks OzB.

Video, Lip, flaps - risky click of the day?

Edit: I clicked and it's all legit.

Can you see the mechanisms brand anywhere?

Is that sticker for the manufacturer? Maybe call them if yes.

Probably easier just to replace the complete mechanism with something similar or stick some of that foam sealer around the window to make a seal.

Is there any brand on the lock or window? If there is then look it up to see if the lock is available as a spare part.

You could take the lock into a locksmith and ask them if they have a replacement. The other option is to try an independent hardware store.

Send your image to the parts finder service at Mr.Windows

  • Thanks everyone, very helpful.

(the replacement suggestions need a key lock on them)

    • It looks like you live a few storeys up?

    • Then buy the key version……

  • Im sure i read something with insurance a question asks if all the windows can be locked by key

Jimmy, thanks, have enquired to those stores :)
