Do I Go into The Office Tomorrow?

Details:

Two days per week required.
Drive to train station (10-15mins)
Train ride (45-50mins)
Walk (10min)
This occurs each way.

There is no one there that I will need to meet with face to face. Managers allegedly have tag in and out reporting.
I have already booked a desk that I plan on "checking in" to regardless of the results of this poll.

EDIT: To give you additional information about me as a person. I just drank a glass of milk.

EDIT: Fiiiiine, I'll go in.

  • Managers allegedly have tag in and out reporting.

Do you work at NAB? They have it reports and they use it.

    • I can neither confirm nor deny.

Even if you confirm, what are the chances they'll find you amongst their 30,000 or so staff? haha

        • +1

That's what I think every time hahaha

  • How important is this job for you..

    • It's just as important as everyone else's job that needs to buy food and pay for a roof over their head.

      • +1

Lol, i'd turn up then.. at least twice a week

        • +2

LOL You're far more responsible than I am.

Then why go to the office? I wouldn't. I save my meetings for Wed and Thurs.

I have already booked a desk that I plan on "checking in" to regardless of the results of this poll.

How do you check in? You mean bum on seat? For my workplace we book a desk and sit down.

    • I'd rather be home on wednesday as that works out better with my schedule.
Everyone I know that is now working in a "hybrid" setting goes in on Thursdays. This makes me want to avoid Thursdays purely to avoid running any rat races.

In terms of checking in, it's just a click of a button on the desk booking app.

      • Monday is usually the busiest day for me. Lots of zoom calls so that's why I prefer to WFH on Mon.

      • In the ACT road traffic data shows that Monday and Friday are the least two popular days people go in

        • +1

I'd agree it's the same in my town. Train station parking was very empty

  • Where exactly is the conflict?

    • OP is thinking of pretending to go to work tomorrow

    • Disrupting equilibrium.

I’ll be monitoring the CCTV cameras at your work and advising your supervisors of your entry and exit times to ensure nil by fraud is committed.

    • +3

      Thanks mate.

I'll liaise with the traffic controllers to ensure his car's number plate is sighted on his way to the station.

Just in case, can you check the train terminals to verify that he is paying the fare?

      • Someone needs to verify if I'm driving to the station legally. There are a couple 40 zones I drive through.

  • +2

Im late to this, but on the fence - what kind of milk?

    • +3

      Full cream

      • +11

        Name does not check out

  • Having fun there OP?

Delays made my morning transit take 2 hours so no. I hate everyone that voted yes last night.

  • There is no one there that I will need to meet with

Sounds like me that feeling of don't belong, no one i want to see, no where i want to be….

    • I know where I want to be. That's at home.
Office is pretty empty today and most of my co workers are interstate. I'll be having zoom meetings with them throughout the day. That small talk should keep me from feeling as depressed as how you put it 😂

      • Dont forget to wave at the end…there are coworkers who will be upset uf you dont

  • Do you need a day off to do job search and find a job closer to home? Call in sick.

    • Nah, I love my job. It was the Sunday blues that I'm sure everyone has experienced once in their lives.

      • +2

As a 24/7 shift worker my sunday blues are just [insert today] blues.
