Ideas for Digital Note Taking Pen

Hi All,

I WFH the majority of the time and being old school, I usually take notes using pen and paper. However, just wondering if there are any options to take notes which can be saved digitally/synced with Microsoft one note? I know tablets support this option but that's outside my budget. Are there budget digital pens that can be used to take notes in a conventional way (scribbling on paper) and are stored digitally on the PC?

Thanks

  • There are few pens like that.

  • I was looking into this around Christmas, and what I discovered what that the decent ones are the price of tablets anyway.

    • Thanks for the input mate.

      • No worries. When you compare it to the price of like say the remarkable, it’s just not worth it.

I also looked into the xp-pen brand, mostly the deco series, and also the Wacom brand, but after watching some reviews I wasn’t sure how well I’d go with lining things up properly, so realised I wanted something with a screen as well. Add the screen, add the price :/

Ended up getting this deal, pretty good for the price: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/746230

Like a rocketbook? Though I think it uses it's own software rather then OneNote

Or take pictures of your notes and add the picture to OneNote?

second hand Samsung galaxy note phone?

    • I would definitely recommend a Rocketbook. I had a smart pen while writing my PhD and didn't do much with it, but my rocketbook had been very useful and will completely replace my paper notebooks when they run out.

  • If you like pen and paper there are Livescribe Pens - the original echo was an interesting approach. A later version synched to evernote and that was hopeless. Later versions were thinner and synched with a smart phone - no idea how effective they are. A niche product. https://us.livescribe.com/products/echo-2™-smartpen.
