Debit Card Exchange Rates

Are Wise/Revoult exchange rates better than Mastercard/Visa rates? My Up card/ ING gives me the exchange rates that is shown on Google/Mastercard/Visa. However when I checked with Wise, the rates are similar. Is there a big difference if I were to get a Wise card despite me having UP/ING bank already?

  • Revolut will be the best during weekdays

  • Revolut/wise use their own rates so it is marginally better but not by much, around 0.5%.

    • I compared the rates between Revoult/Wise with ING but ING seems to give me a better rate.

      • It also depends on the currency you use, ING uses Visa rates and I find Visa is better at some lesser used currencies that revolut or wise as they don't have as many transactions in their exchanges for those. To me there's no real difference between either. I just checked between visa and revolut for one of the currencies I usually use and there was a 0.05% advantage at Revolut which is virtually nothing.
