I don't know if a lot of Ozbargainers are into VR and VR Games. But these is a Freebie. So I thought I share it just in case someone is interested.

Seattle, February 28, 2023 — Today we are announcing POPULATION: ONE will be going free-to-play on March 9th with new features launching the same day. Additionally, we are revealing our 2023 roadmap.

As the top selling VR battle royale game, we are excited to bring POP1 to a larger audience and broaden the social multiplayer experience.

We want to reward our existing players and those who choose to purchase the game before March 9th with an exclusive bundle (full details are below). Not only that, we have a ton of exciting new content rolling out on March 9th and throughout the year.

      I guess sales have slowed and probably less headsets selling too especially with the price rise.

      So open it up and hope to make money from micro transactions.

        Didn't they just announce a price decrease on the 256gb model, I'm sure I read an article on it within the last week or so. Though it was still going to be more than before they increased it last year.

    For those looking just to add this to their oculus.com account, unfortunately its not free.
    As per the website in the OP

    Pricing variations starting 3/9 @ 10am PT (Rift PCVR, Steam, Meta Quest/Pro)

    The game will be free on Meta Quest 2 / Pro starting at 10am PT on March 9th
    Oculus Rift and Steam will be priced at $19.99 (starting March 9th at 10am PT). Similar to other games, the value price on those platforms will be used to prevent potential cheaters from making a new account on Steam/Rift easily.
    Players who purchase the game on Steam/Oculus Rift platforms, players will be granted 1,200 ($20) worth of Bureau Gold (BG) into their account. This will take effect on 3/9 @ 10am Pacific.
