No they do, they just want to extract as much money as possible.
I gave in a while back, simply won't pay it anymore. They can stick the taxes up their bums. Have found better ways.

Anyone remember the beer with a shot of vodka in it? Getting tanked used to be so cheap and the drink companies kept thinking of ways to make it even cheaper.
RTDs have always been ridiculously expensive compared to equivalent beers, ciders, or even buying a bottle of spirit. 'The government' does not have any strong feelings about the matter.
$97.70 a litre alcohol in spirits tax (before GST) sends a fairly strong message.
Wrong. KRudd introduced a 70% 'alcopops' tax on these and similar drinks in 2008 in a bid to curb young people binge drinking.
I totally forgot about the tax increase, it's what kicked off the boom in cider drinks, but it wasn't 70% tax, it was an increase of the existing tax by 70%.
30 years ago, before 'Cruisers', we had UDLs and they were still very expensive compared to both beer/cider as well as bottled spirit.@jcon: Embarrassingly I’m a tax guy that deals in excise and so obviously knew it wasn’t a 70% tax. Brain fart.

Tax on RTDs was jacked way up years ago. They used to be comparable beers before that.

Open up Dan's front page. Every single (profanity) square cm is taken up by wine ads. Even their (profanity) ad for the Dan's membership depicts someone with a bottle of wine. Is it wine industry lobbying or something?!
i was just on it and saw $55 price might be a bug but then i checked out and now its $69 member price as described in this deal
