Anyone know what's the go with the shortage of huggies nappies and nappy pants (particularly in size 5) on Amazon?

Size 3 too. Been buying babylove but just not as good.

      • even in woolies ive been too, no size 3

      • You're right, with our first kid we went through ALL the possible cheaper options we could find (INCLUDING spending a RIDICULOUS amount of disposable nappy setups) - but ultimately huggies was by far the most reliable. The ultimate nappies are by far the best for overnight I found for my two boys.

I think they are trying to increase the price. These used to be $35, when on specials the price went to $27 (BIGW, Woolies etc..), but now the normal price is $39 or $40.

      • or price fixing? I used to save anywhere from $5-10+ a pack because most of the time amazon would be matching the chepaest, then let you stack s+s discounts. AND get free delivery - sometimes also had discounted cards too so made it even more attractive..like why would you bother getting it from a supermarket unless you suddenly ran out.

        • I don't think it is price fixing. Its more just the cost of materials going up. Like with Toilet Paper, Tissues and Paper Towels. All have gone up and some of them even double the price of pre-covid. Covid has pushed us closer and closer to a recession, so sadly as a side effect there will be inflation.

Sadly inflation doesn't hit our pay… only on things that add to our cost of living.

          • @lplau: I meant more like the other retailers banding together and putting pressure on huggies supplier to stop amazon from undercutting with price match and then allowing a stack with s&s discount (Especially when its so easy to just get 1 lot, cancel, and re-order later as required)

        • price fixing…, maybe. But Costco has also increased their price.

        • Amazon also increased their price :)

the RRP used to be $30 less than 3 years ago.

ALOT of things was cheaper 3 years ago. Nothing has returned yet to Pre-COVID prices, and unlikely will for the next few years as we inch towards a recession which would also cause inflation and higher cost of living.

Things used to be a lot cheaper 10 years ago too….

  • @34cents each, they're exxy.
