  • Sorry, forgot to put price, down from $820.38 to $278.00 according to vendor.

  • Free shipping too!

  • 8lien is BS isnt it ? usually the shopbot prices are not the prices listed on their site

  • Put price in title and vendor name

  • Much be price error, no way at that price.

    Price and Vendor on title.

  • not a price error
    greenboxit has the same price

  • 1440p at under #300 is either a pricing error or a scam. No way these would be the same price as the korean bare bone monitors using A- panels from LG.

Edit: Seems other retailers are selling at low price aswell… interesting.

    • So pricing error from 2 vendors? I was thinking maybe a USB 3.0 model is replacing this one so they clear out USB 2.0 stock cheaper.

      • Yeah I don't understand even a 1920x1080 LED monitor cost more than that.

I think may be the supplier having a price error and their system automatically pick the wrong price.

        • I will see if they honour their advertised price. I agree it looks too cheap, perfect fit for OzBargain!

        • They wont, 8lien are well known for price stuff ups, they had the whole range of lenovo for much less than it costs to produce. yes it was a stuff up.

      • I'm just finding it hard to believe the they can sell a samsung 1440p for that low. The cheapest on the market (well until now) were the shimian/catleap/yamakasi ips monitors. Mind you they were barebones with rejected monitors made by LG that apple didn't want for their cinema displays. These were about $250us + $90 expedited shipping from korea.

Now these are quality samsungs that WILL come with warranty for cheaper?

        Mind blown.

    • FYI, you can get a 27 inch at 1140 with IPS panel for sub $300

The reviews on whirlpool and overclockers are quite favourable as well

They even petitioned a manufacturer to produce a special panel version to allow 100+ mhz

      • But not Samsung Professional range.

        http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/monitors/LS27A850DS/ZA-bu…

Also a lot more expensive from US.

      • Exactly, I bought the first gen crossovers (oc'd to 90Hz) for $330 about 5-7 months ago. With these you have to play russian roulette with backlight bleeding and dead pixels. If you have issues you're either stuck with the pixels or spend $100 send it back to korea.

These samsungs are cheaper with a better local warranty??????

As far as i know PLS is somewhere in between a VA panel and an IPS. Better motion reproduction but not as good colour accuracy. Viewing angles are similar i believe.

        Really mind blown right now.

        • How are you finding the monitor? Worth your money?

        • Definitely worth it IMO.

Just gotta ask yourself if you can live with a dead pixel or two, considering you just bought a ~$800 for $330. I have seen a dead pixel in one of these and it really isnt anything to worry about. Pixel density is extremely high, you wont see dead pixels unless you're about 10-20cm from the screen. At normal viewing it won't be visible, specs of dusts really stand out more.

      • Here's a quick search on eBay:

        http://search.ebay.com.au/27+IPS+Monitor

Those 27" IPS monitors from Korea actually caused quite a bit of stir on the web last couple of days. For example this article from Jeff Atwood (ex-StackOverflow):

        http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/2012/07/the-ips-lcd-revolut…

        • Extensive posts on oveclockers.net regarding these monitor. All you have to say really is that "they're apple monitors" and people go crazy over them. Same panel as the ACD but the U2711 uses a newer panel, but both made by LG.

  • The S27A850TSK from our supplier is almost $700.

Unless there is a big difference on "TSK" mean.

    • I think that the TSK monitors can do 85Hz refresh

  • the 8lien price has been fixed back to $701, so more likely a pricing error, now just need to confirm with GreenboxIT

  • Now it says $728 — Looks like a pricing error?

Edit: GreenBoxIT.com.au also shows $727.10 now. Not sure how two separate websites make the same pricing error. Probably some dodgy feed from the supplier?

Move to forums as it's a pricing error.

    • $727 from Greenbox IT now aswell. Pricing error indeed

    • +1

I'm betting Greenbox has an algorithm that automatically undercuts competitors. Gonna bite them some day.

      • Or they are the same place a la megabuy, and its a percentage off a catalouge.

  • If only that happens to one of the Dell monitors…day dreaming

    • Same. I wonder what happens now since I ordered in good faith and have printout of the order?

    • Just buy the korean monitors. They all use the same LG panels anyways. At half the price of the u2711, just buy 2 if you're worried about warranty :D

    still $305 here
shipping is bad if you're not on the East coast though

    • You can try but I don't think such a small shop will honor it.

They have a few shops at Sydney North.

      • They ship to Melbourne Metro for $22.50 Thanks shalashaska, will try them as well

        • let me know how you go. Cheers

        • They have a shop near my office but they are only a small corner computer shop.

Let us know how you go.

I have just ordered one payment on pick up and let see.

  • Just got this reply, I think is because of price error instead of stock availability :p

Date Ordered: Monday 30 July, 2012

The comments for your order are

Sorry, your order is cancelled due to stock availability.

Your order has been updated to the following status.

    New status: Cancelled

Please reply to this email if you have any questions.

    • Yep, I just got same email, and one from 8lien came yesterday. Ordered 5x from each.

  • Got the same email but their site still shows the reduced price and 11 in stock.

Will be interesting if the price goes up and stock suddenly becomes available again.

  • They should just strange forward said price errors …..

If they didn't already charged our money doesn't matter.

    • emailed them ask them again, they said they have received 44 orders last night and now the web site said -54.

But they didn't say whether I can back order or not.

      • Got the same response except that they mentioned "…so we cannot fulfill all orders".

The response implies that some of the 44 orders were processed at the discounted price.

        • Anyone actually got it processed?

  • They said they have 13 in stock today …. but price up to $756.

    • emailed them yesterday asked them again, they didn't want to reply me.

      • Damn, so no one got one?
        Have you tried calling them?
A phone call is harder to ignore ;)
