Automation/Devices to Read the Electrical Meter

Hi All,

I am in WA and Western Power just upgraded our old meter to this one.

Was wondering if anyone has used optical probes or any other DIY similar devices to read the electrical meter and integrate it with HA.

  I am not sure if you can get the meter reading. You can get something like powerpal that let you see live usage on the app. however, i am not sure if you can integrate that with HA.

    Just checked and Powerpal are free in Victoria!! Anyone got a free lying around 🙂?

  Your distributor may have a portal to view smart meter data. May have to web scrape the data.
  Another way if you also have solar, and have the consumption meter install you can get live data from an API. Example product is Solar Edge.
  Retailers like AGL have integrations with Google Assistant too.
