shave your head, wear a suit and you can be mr worldwide

    • Or Rusty in Unhinged.

  • great price for crystal lenses …but not sure i’d wear other than in car driving from a fashion sense ….

    • what is crystal lens ?

      • +4

crystal lenses means made of glass instead of plastic …..don’t scratch as easy as plastic and better optical clarity …. it’s why camera lenses and telescopes don’t use plastic lenses …… it’s why even with maui jim they charge more for glass lenses than their plastic lens models …..

        • Yeah, I remember when years ago, when I started wearing prescription glasses, they tried to upsell me on plastic lenses 😀, I didn't bite.

Now I can't afford glass lenses - how things change

    Designed & Crafted in Italy

    Then made in PRC

    • Persol is Luxottica

    • +3

They say hand made in Italy if you look at the images

      • Material made in PRC
        Assembled in Italy

        • … By migrant workers from China.
You know, thats how covid hit Italy so fast and hard 🫠

          • @ripprind: I call this BS, big time.
Otherwise, you could just provide your reputable source.

            • -1

@Hasbulla: Chinese worker influx into Italian high fashion industry has been well-known for years. Here's a sample:
              https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-italy-sweatshop-insight-i…
              https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2018/04/16/the-chinese-wo…

              • @findingbargains: This is whataboutism that has got nothing to do with your that statement.
Of course there's heaps of chinese workers in the textile industry.
I'm still after your reputable source claiming that these workers were the root cause of what made COVID 'fast and hard'.
Please let me know if you find it as you will pretty much get the Nobel prize for medicine.

              • @findingbargains: australian curry cooked by indian worker in australia, or chinese stir fry cooked by chinese students in australia …..countries have mixed faces and people work …..labour laws are country based not race based …. the persol are made in italy maybe by a bulgarian …..it’s the quality of the brand you are buying not nationality of who assembles it.

@Hasbulla: I'm sorry if you got offended by my post.
It was meant more as a joke. Fashion industry and all.

China is going to rise to hegemony - may as well joke about it while we can 🤷‍♂️🙂

              • @ripprind: Not offended at all mate.
It’s about making things up and getting away with it.
It’s just that thousands of people died in the first wave in Italy and you blamed it on Chinese immigrants, not even funny as a joke.

                • -2

@Hasbulla: My mistake - I thought you got offended by the migrant worker bit.
The "Chinese started covid" was not even a bit, that's well established by now isn't it?

                  • @ripprind: I'll stop here.
I reckon there's no point continuing giving you any form of attention/audience.

I buy the kmart $10 ones (I bought 2 - 3 put one in the car, one in my work bag, one at home so I always have one nearby) and they are genuinely better than this.

    • +7

I buy the kmart ebay $10 ones (I bought 2 - 3 4 - 5 put one in the car, one in my work bag, one at home, etc. so I always have one nearby) and they probably are not genuinely better than this but they're good enough for me.

    • How much did you pay for your Persols?

Lens Technology: Non-Polarised, big let down

    • +1

What is the big deal about polarisation? I can't read my phone or see the car screen with my sunnies on. Doesn't seem to limit glare any better.

      • usually wear sunglasses for driving

        • +2

Not sure what you mean, I drive with mine and can't read the displays.

          • @jihape: have you rotated your display 90 degree for starters) EG. from portrait to landscape, or vice versa?

    • Bought an oakley polarized sun glasses and now hoping i can swap for non polarized.

It makes me dizzy on polarized glasses.

Not sure what polarized does to me

  • I bought it. Let’s see what is look like

Ozb goes from "omg the fashion" to "omg just buy $10 Kmart" in the bat of an eye

  • bought a non polarised Persol for $50 in the DJ's sale. They look good, but too glary. Polarised only going forward!

    These ones are hideous..

Great price for crystal sunglasses… Thanks OP !!!

  • Great deal, unfortunately I have missed out as they are now OOS :(

You should know that the so-called "Plastic" lens have come a long way, and are now not only as optically correct as Glass but are as scratch resistant.Ask any reputable Optometrist for verification.

    • sure that is why phone screens are plastic because it’s as scratch resistant as glass ? …. plastic is cheaper and lighter, that is about it …..hardness is measured on moh scale not by marketing ……

  • Those for who have bought. A review on the sunglasses

Best deal on a pair of Persol sunglasses I have ever seen. I own a pair and the quality is phenomenal over any pair of Ray Bans.
