Just be aware that the latest 120GB for $119 deal expired on 7 March, though hopefully it will come back within a month or so.

      • Thanks, didn't notice that deal had 2 different expiry dates.

Sucks cos I was looking to buy the $119 one next week due to the Activate within 30 days of purchase condition

        • If you read the comments of previous deals such as this one, you will see claims that there's not really a problem with activating it after 30 days.

    • Ten months into this plan I have used about 30GB, so that would be a waste of $20 for me.

  • Unlimited overseas calls gives this offer value.

      Only to 15 selected destinations.

  • Does anyone know if this can be used in a mobile broadband router?

What, 5Gb a month? Why would you? Just tether to the phone.

      • I’m looking for a low cost option to backup my nbn. I run a couple of services that I’d like to have access to remotely when there are nbn issues.

        Hopefully I wouldn’t need all the data…

        • You could tether the phone up to a GL iNet 750AR travel router via USB. That gets around the Android 10 device tethering limit and give you enough range to cover the house. That's what I do, and it appears to the carrier that you have only one device tethered.

  • I just bought Woolworths pre paid sim card and planning to go for 180 days pre paid plan. This one seems to have a better value. The second year will be $120 according to the site.

According to comments in an earlier deal, Coles Mobile may offer you a discount of around 20% on your recharge. To increase your chances of receiving such an offer, about a month before recharge date you should make sure that auto recharge is turned off and "receive marketing" is turned on.

      • +1

My $2 Woolworths Sim will be wasted. :(

      • I recently did that. They told me on chat line "no discounts", I switched off auto recharge and within 24 hours they took off 20%. Paying $96.

    • +2

The Woolies prepaid gives you 10% off groceries once per month.
For big shoppers, could work out to be cheaper in the end.

      • Very good point. I shop every week in Woolworths. Could do a big shop in the last week of every month. My $2 is saved. Thank you!

  • Amaysim have the same deal.

    • Yes, it appears to be much the same deal minus the international calls and texts.

      • +1

Woolies amaysim is on sale right now for $99 plus you also get 1000 rewards points ($5 worth). 60gb and calls to 28 countries.

        • +1

That is interesting. It seems that Amaysim has 2 variants on its 365 Days 60GB plan, one direct from Amaysim for $120 without international calls, and one in-store at Woolworths for $119 with international calls. And they are both currently going for $99.

The deal with international calls has a broken link to the 28 selected countries. I presume they are the same as the list on this page.

careful with coles mobile. I just bought a $200 pack for my elderly mum and we can't use it. The only ID verification they support is Visa and Mastercard. They don't accept License or Passport as ID. And they won't accept Amex either. Even though it's just an ID check and not a payment. WTF.

The CSR I spoke to on chat says, "there's nothing we can do about it sorry."

A retired old lady who doesn't have a mastercard or visa, and the bank would never issue one due to lack of a job, can't use Coles Mobile, even though it's fully prepaid for a year. Useless. Every other telco accepts photo ID. I have a supp card in her name, but it's AMEX, and not accepted. I can understand smaller merchants not accepting AMEX because of fees but this is Coles… and they're not even taking payment, it's only for ID verification. Get with the times.

So it's a paperweight. And of course we can't get a refund.

It may be difficult to get a bank willing to issue a Visa/Mastercard credit card, but it should be easy to get a debit card. Many/most banks issue a Visa debit card as standard when you open an ordinary transaction account, and they don't ask any questions about income.

    • Get a prepaid credit card or put the plan in your name.

    Best thing IMO is

Buy the 120 GB sim on sale, ( keep that for whole year use about 70 GB in that year, then change plan to 60 GB just before expiry date, ( and rollover the rest of 50 GB to the next year). So you pay $96 (coles will just give you discount 20% of recharges within 30 days of plan expiry in my experience) for the 60 GB + 50 GB (bonus rollover from last year).

Continue your rollover of upto 50GB per year or
    start sim slutting.

  • My mum has a Coles Mobile 365 day pre-paid that is about to end. Does anyone know if this deal can be used as a recharge for her existing service?

  • Received 20% discount on next recharge so upgraded to the $150 120GB plan for $120. Not too bad with unlimited international calls when there are no good sales at this time.

  • Just activated & calls aren't even ringing, just going straight to voicemail, so annoying.

I've done a google search but nothing is working. Anyone know how to turn it off?

    • Voicemail was turned off this morning so maybe it was something to do with activating after hours.
