2023 Polygon Path 3 Urban City Bike for $719 (Save $80) + Shipping @ BikesOnline

110

I recently was on the hunt for a solid city bike that I could mount panniers on.

A reddit comment suggested the Polygon Path 3 - the best deal I could find was BikesOnline that is now 10% off at $719. Shipping is about another $30.

I was impressed by the service: I was able to schedule a phone call with someone to discuss my needs and the bike, it arrived two days after I ordered it, and when it came it was pretty much ready to go - some home assembly, but all tools are included as well as a handy instruction manual. It was very safely packaged inside the box.

As for the bike itself: it gets really good reviews, not just on the BikesOnline website. According to 99spokes it has really good specs for its price-point. Apparently Polygon is a newish budget brand (Indonesian?).

I've now been riding it about a week. I've been quite happy with it, it feels solid, brakes and gears work well. Overall I'd say it's a good deal for $719.

  • Polygon supplied the bikes for ALDI. Sadly have not seen them in a while.
    Good specs here.

Congrats. Polygon is an established brand . I have 2 Polygon Xtrada 6 MTBs (2019 & 2023) and I have no complaints. Better values than Trek/Giants IMHO.

    • I've heard a lot that polygon bikes are good intro mountain bikes, but you outgrow them and end up getting brand names like Trek/Giant.

I'm about to drop some serious coin on a Scot genius.

    • Thanks

  • Polygon’s been around since the 90s according to their website, seems like a solid well-loved brand in their home turf..

This is perfect for a Bafang BBS02 conversion. Bike: $719, Bafang 750W BBS02 motor: $700, 17.5Ah Battery: $700. Say $2,200 for a quick, reliable, bespoke eBike with good range.

Yes I saw some Reddit posts talking about exactly this.

    • do riders get stopped by police much for not being "legal" with the BBS02?

      • +1

I've never been stopped but I'm not in a big city and I don't get about on mine like a maniac. The cops are looking for throttles on eBikes because they're easy to spot. Always ghost pedal in built up areas (if you install a throttle). You could grind the 750W etching off the base of the engine housing and then there's no way to know what size it is.

        • Thanks for the response mate - appreciate it

  • Highly recommend this bike. I had a bike stolen Labour Day weekend 2021, and had to wait until October for this bike to come back in stock. I had already picked it out as a replacement because the stack and reach were similar and it has a long wheelbase which I prefer. I rode it on last year's Great Vic Bike Ride and it was ace. Hydraulic brakes feel "great" but I have only ever used these ones. Any questions, I am happy to answer…

  • I bought a polygon siskiu d6 and at the specs for $1600, any other brand it would have been like $2700, the value is really good on them

  • How has the bike been?

I'm looking at this myself, the specs seem to be good for the price point unless you want to go near the $1k range (speeder 100) which would include a CF fork.
