Prepaid Mobile Registered for a Business

Looking for 2x prepaid SIMs that are for a not-for-profit organisation (run by a committee which I’m a member of) and can be registered in the business name (not an individual).
Is this possible? Would be lucky to make 2 calls on it a month and maybe a few text messages. Phones will be inside the building 99% of the time so will be on WiFi.
Looked at Aldi and Coles but both need to be registered to a person and not a company.
Any ideas? Worse case, I’ll get the current director to register them in their name. Thanks.

Hmmmm… It makes me wonder what kind of business it runs if you can’t sign up to a postpaid service, in terms of the longevity of the organisation. You will always need the ID check for prepaid iirc, but try calling them first to see what might be available.

    • Thanks for your concern. Not for profit. Run by a committee that changes every few years. Do have admin staff. We have a Telstra account but smallest business plans are $58/mth which would be $1392/year for two devices Vs 2x prepaid sims - either PAYG or even the Coles $99 plan or similar value on Woolies/Amaysim.

      • Telstra is generally overpriced unless you are a corporate. iinet has some cheaper plans for business. Since you have a few people in the organisation, you really want postpaid. Maybe I'm old school, but some times it's not about money, especially when you can probably write off a lot of things when it comes to not for profit.

        • Thanks for that. For me personally, it is about the money and saving (potentially) about $1200/year seems like it's worth doing prepaid rather then postpaid.

@crumbo85: Of course. I use prepaid for my own business, but sole trader is a different game. Make sure you save the usage data for the prepaid service regularly. Auditability can be a real issue when you are doing month to month, just be prepared. All the best :)

Prepaid in a personal name will do you just fine with the cheapest 365 days plan that has reception in your place. Create an account (keep the login and password on file), register the phone number in someone's name, add a credit card to activate the sim, then remove the credit card/switch off auto recharge.

    • Cheers for that, I think I'll end up registering them in my name and yeah, creating a login to the recharge portal using admin email address.

Make sure you record the new phone number on the board meeting minutes, for your protection in case a user of the phone commits crime with it.
