    Reviews actually seem alright

otherwise see if you can maybe get access to education portal (unless you know someone else who has access to the government or corpo portals) - they have some pretty good deals sometimes and decent trade in for even some older iphones. or consider going with a telco if you dont have the cash up front (probably need to shop around though).

    • They did 30% off in December on the S23s. I cant recall the Flip/Fold pricing.

It's never worth buying a used phone for me unless direct from manufacturer. The risk and potential hassle is not worth it for me.

But maybe the saving is worth it to you. It's entirely subjective. Phonebot seems to be fairly reputable but never know what particular unit you're going to get.

Phonebot were fine for me. I ordered from them and they were honest enough to contact me that the colour I ordered was not available and gave me the option of proceeding with the order or cancelling.

Whether the $1499 price is worth it or not - that's up to you.

  • No. my brother in law has this and has the screen cracked 2 times from using. he DID NOT drop it.

I've dropped mine numerous times on concrete, wooden floors, down the side of the car between the seat / door.
All from pocket height and only have a small scratch on the cover screen !

      best phone I've ever used

      • I have a slightly cracked screen at the front. It did have a thin screen cover but it hit the edge falling out of my pocket onto concrete. I'll hold back till Sept/Oct when the new one comes out, at a decent price.

My experience with Phonebot. They accused me of being a thief and demanded I pay them extra $ to make up the order difference after they mixed up two delivery orders. Then wanted to do the bare minimum instead of organising someone to collect it they made me have to find someone to take me to the post office.
Which was after they where like "oh just send us an itemised bill for postage and we will send you a payment by paypal."

The return label didn't even include a bag so wanted me to return a at the time quite expensive item with zero protection. As it was originally packed poorly no foam bubble wrap nothing just the device in a big box. Where it could get thrown and bounce around.
I ended up being out of pocket for their mistake (trip to the post office + bubble wrap and a postage bag) I asked them to delete my account/details as far as I know they never did my login worked a over a year after it happened I doubt their customer service takes a year to act. The refund was quite quick though which was the only good thing. But that is my experience.

I'm sure they are a decent company otherwise no one on here would use them. But I never experienced it and frankly have no interest in trying them again. :)

    • Thanks mate for the details. I checked on their listing- it has 12 months Samsung Warranty and condition is A grade means nearly new. Yes you are right its on individual preference to invest such a big amount on refurb or wait for sometime to get offer on new one which may some extra bucks on $1499.

      • Admittedly, that was straight from Gpt.
Samsung phones usually have 2 years warranty standard, but you maybe able to go the ACL path if need be.

On a budget but buying a $1500 folding phone used?

    • Yes mate. Budget does not always mean $100-$200. Actually I will selling my S22 also to add some money, which makes $1500 in my hand.

  • No I wouldn't buy from them because I had terrible experience with them before.
    Check this out

  • Great phone. But honestly, the Samsung care is a must on this and is 399.

Which takes it up to a price where you might as well wait for the 5, it will have less screen cracks and probably include the care for half price or free.
