Hey guys, I've been using this site for a long time to get great deals on accom, airfares, sales online etc - it's fantastic, keep it up!
Now for the question - I'm wondering if/how self promotion is handled on here? I mention it because although many of the deals that I see are posted by third party users, every now and again I come across a deal that has obviously been entered by the company itself.
The reason I'm interested in this? I manage an (Australian) online shop, where we have two large promotions per year (40-50% off), as well as weekly promotions (eg 40% a certain product). Obviously if I was to post "deals" on here, I wouldn't be posting about the weekly promotions, but just the two large promotions.
The other question I have is: is there a list etc of suitable content? The site that I'm talking about is centered around craft and craft supplies - not really the thing I see on here too much…
So - I'd hate to step on someone's toes - is this kind of promotion suitable and accepted?
Got big promotion with 40%-50% off? Bring it on!
Although we do allow merchants/online retailers to post their own promotions, they are likely to be judged more strictly by the users. After all OzBargain is user-powered, and you guys decide what are the best bargains, what are dodgy and what are simply spams. And if someone has repeatedly spamming OzBargain, the entire domain will be blacklisted here.
