  The VAT is taken off the listed price and then the postage is added. Then I convert it and get the price as stated above.
  This is the case for ALL deals from Amazon.

  I really want and need a Kitchenaid Artisan and this deal is so tempting. However I just can't bring myself to order one from Germany, what with the potential for damage on the way over and warranty issues. Having said that, I can't find one for less than about $650 in Oz :(

    Warranty is 2 years in Germany and Amazon will pay for postage if you need to return it within that time. Really no problem there. Other people buy TVs and PS3s over there which are a lot more sebsitive than a mixer but they all arrive fine.

    the wattage shown is input watts.
    what it simply represents are the watts used for the motor to operate. it's the efficiency of those watts that represent the output power of the machine.
    if a mixer shows input 1000 watts it simply suggests that it'll use a hell of a lot more power to operate and do the same tasks that kitchenaids do.

  It's a good deal, but I just picked up a kitchenaid kpm5 from costco at $699. Only $170 more, but you don't need to deal with international warranties/delivery/etc.
  And it's a bigger machine..

  Of course, you can only get it in red..
  .. And you have to be a member of Costco….

  Amazon EU has blocked shipping into Australia now.
  Both Germany and Italy Amazon is not shipping these into Australia except Spain (which you have to pay heaps for freight).
