Average reviews but free is free.

    Thanks!

As @Simvixet points out below (and a quick check of the negative reviews confirms it) most of the negative reviews are from people who previously owned the game as Borderlands 2 DLC and were peeved because they bought this without realising it was the same game. It actually appears to be pretty good.

Oh honey no. This is one of the most beloved DLCs of all time. The reviews and downvotes are from people who didn’t think it should’ve been sold separately from Borderlands 2. But it wasn’t released for them, it was released for people who never played Borderlands to get them interested in Wonderlands.

Though I’ll say it probably doesn’t work as well as a stand-alone. Part of the story is that a character is using the game to deal with grief. If you haven’t experienced that death in the main game, then you likely won’t understand who she’s grieving for and the hints leading up to it. I highly recommend playing Borderlands 2 first.

          Delete! Spoilers!

      • Thanks fam! I’ll give it a go

It's probably the high water mark for Borderlands writing, along with the first Borderlands Telltale series. One they've tried and failed badly at recreating.

This was great. D&D with guns.

Just a heads up - this is a standalone version of the Borderlands 2 DLC from 2013. Most of the bad reviews are from people who didn't realise this. This is not the Wonderlands game released last year.

Has been free on Epic before but may as well grab since it is free

I tried this campaign with my BL2 character who was like very high, completed the main quest, I can't remember the exact level but it was only a few below the max, but I could barely last 3 minutes in this campaign. The skeletons destroyed me instantly with their longbows.
    What gives?

    • Corrosion helps. Shoot and hide.

I got owned stepping off the boat for a while.

    • I liked the campaign, but yes. I had to keep trying to snipe from far away with corrosive weapons, otherwise I'd just die immediately.

  • Thought about getting wonderlands but not compatible on steam deck
