      Paging @blacksmithnpc @tdw they're the G-Shock experts

Had a quick browse and I can only see 4 deals:

      https://www.catch.com.au/product/casio-g-shock-mens-46mm-g-s…

      https://www.catch.com.au/product/casio-g-shock-men-s-52mm-ga…

      https://www.catch.com.au/product/casio-baby-g-womens-43mm-ba…

      https://www.catch.com.au/product/casio-g-shock-56mm-mens-gg1… (not saving much)

The rest are not that cheap, for example a DW-6900 can get as low as $50

      • The mudmaster can be had for $297 delivered with eBay Plus.

Lots of diffrerent models. This particular one has always been around $300-350. Amazon has a black one for $299 which I'm debating whether to buy, but I'm currently browsing Jordan 1s

          • @rosebank: Which jordan 1 ?

          • @rosebank: Naiceee.

Yeah, was going to mention the black one is also available on catch for the same price as the other colour they have. But $5 is $5 and more people have Amazon than Onepass so good find still!

          • +1

@rosebank: Yeah you beat me to it. The Mudmaster has been $299 Shipped and Sold by Third party but Fulfilled by Amazon for at least 4 or 5 months now.

$170 for the GBD200 is a decent price, shipping seems to be extra though. I posted the GBX100 for $179 shipped which is more or less the same watch and while it is the older model it has a slightly more premium build with the metal bezel so I would say the GBD200 on sale should be for less.

Not sure what Onepass is but that makes it free shipping and drops the GBD200 price to $119 Shipped which is definitely a bargain. (Ok Onepass seems to be just a "membership" program, so no harm or risk in signing up for the Free trial to get the discount)

The GA100 is a good price, close to "Amazon warehouse/Used - Like new" prices which were around $8X Shipped. Don't think it's a particularly popular model though because of the negative displays and their position they are hard to read especially in the dark because even with the light toggled it does not shine on the negative digital displays.

Don't know much about the BA112 sorry. I think you purchased this one on sale before? or a different coloured version of it?

            • @harshbdmmaster718: I didn't even see the OnePass prices. I got the free trial to get a Bunnings $10 voucher and 3 free keys cut.

Yeah, I got the BA112. Paid about $100-120, can't remember.

Can you explain the difference between the GBD200 and GBX100 again? I remember you saying the older module is better

              • +1

@rosebank: GBX100 is the older model and module. It has extra information which consists of Tide data and Sunrise/Sunset times that's it, other than that it's identical to the module in the GBD200.
Physically the GBX100 also has a metal bezel that's on top of the resin and a different style of band (double tongued buckle and slightly softer band on GBX100) . Does the metal bezel mean better shock resistance and durability? I doubt it. It looks more premium but at the same time if you ding it, it will show.
I have heard some reports the GBX100 is also slightly more "top heavy" because of the steel bezel. I don't think the difference in top heavy weight from the GBD200 would be big enough to notice any downsides.

Because of the slightly less module information and all resin build. I think the GBD200 should receive a bigger discount than the GBX100 even if the GBD200 is the more recent model.

      • Pro trek PRT-B50 at $189 is not a bad price either

        • Damn, also a good find!

Shame it's just not my style though. I'd have grabbed this one instead probably if I had seen it earlier.. 😅

          • +1

@WasBargain: Still can cancel order if just place order with catch not long ago. Looks like sold and ship by catch… maybe 10% discount code from student bean will work

            • @thomalfa: I grabbed mine via the $297 eBay link. 😅 It's okay though, I still reckon the one I got will get a lot more wrist time, although the extra sensors would have been nice. Thanks anyway.

P.S. Did you know how high the altimeter goes? 😅

              • +1

@WasBargain: Own a prt b70… tried and tested on 3000m above sea level. Not that accurate but better than nothing.

Haven’t tested on board a flight. Interesting to see if it can handle 10000m

                • @thomalfa: Yeah, that's what I was wondering! 😅

                  • @WasBargain: Honestly, the ABCT sensors are pretty alright even though the accuracy is in question of how accurate it is respectively.

Would even greater if pro trek came with solar charging.

GBD1000 probably the right watch to go

                    • @thomalfa:

GBD1000 probably the right watch to go

You mean GBD-H1000? The successor was just released the GBD-H2000, which explains why they were clearing out the H1000's. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/748738

                      • @harshbdmmaster718: Looks very similar between h1k and h2k version, adding another sensor

                        • @thomalfa: From images I can tell the display is also slightly larger.
While the new version actually shrink's a bit in width (2.4mm) and depth (2mm), but height is larger by 4.4mm this is measured lug to lug which includes the first link of the band which tells me it's better for bigger wrists.
But since width is down, I think the change in display size is bigger than it actually looks.
H2000 is also dramatically lighter in weight. Only 63g compared to 101g for the old model. The difference is they used resin instead of the "underneath resin chunk" stainless steel bezel. Makes sense because typical GPS watches like Suunto/Garmin/Polar are within the 60g to 70g range. They should feel light when you are running etc.

Here is links to image for comparison.

The real feature they added though is they partnered with GPS watch company Polar to use their algorithms for more accurate fitness tracking.

Wouldn't the pressurized cabin mess with the measurement? Pretty sure the watch sensor works similarly to a barometer and measures air pressure.

e.g. at 10000m altitude there should be very low air pressure, but inside a jet plane they normalize (pressurize/raise air pressure) it to keep passengers comfortable.

haha i'm no expert, just a rabid collector of the g.

that white ga100b looks fresh-as. i'll even overlook the negative display :p

        • +1

What's with the "speed indicator" on this model?

        • The white one is dope, but I think I have a similar 200 that's white

  • +1

Amazing how much the Casio cheapos with resin lens have gone up.

In case anyone is wondering pretty much all Casio's around $60 or less have a resin lens (there are some exceptions).

    All G-Shocks are mineral.

    • Except this one.. 😅

      • +1

Yeah I knew someone would say that after I commented.

        • Haha, only came across it while researching that Mudmaster posted above.

Thinking to make it my first G-banger. 🤣

But it's not enough of a bargain (compared to other retailers) for me to grab it.. 😅

          • @WasBargain: It's got a lot of features and settings let me tell you that. Watched a video covering them all and it was like 50 minutes long lol. But if you like that sort of thing (the guy in the video seemed like he loved it) then going through the settings and remembering them will be a blast.

            • @harshbdmmaster718: Yeahnah, that's wild! 🤣

I'll think I gave up on the model I actually bought after watching like 10 minutes into a video, giving up trying to remember all the buttons and stuff. Didn't help he had some dirty Russian accent so it was already hard to keep up. 😅

              • +1

@WasBargain: Yeah honestly on the Mudmaster for advanced functions it's a lot of combinations of either pressing two buttons at once, or holding 1 or 2 buttons for X amount of seconds (different feature for holding 3 seconds vs 5 seconds vs 8 seconds etc). A bit too much to remember for me as well so I just stick with the traditional G-shocks.
I guess if you were an "adventurer" type who actually needed to use those special functions regularly it would help to remember them.

  • Not many positive votes WTF
That G-Lide GBX100 at 153 is cheaper than the 179 from BCF that scored a 30ish pos a few months back….

    Thanks op!

    • Yeah I just upvoted. Sorry OP I only had enough time to respond to rosebank tagging me in the comments earlier and had not actually read the post in full.

If anything maybe the "Onepass" sign up is turning people away. At least it made me pause when I first saw it and definitely thought I needed to look into it more so I knew what I was signing up for even if it is a 30 day free trial.

Edit: Actually I think the GBD200 is better value at $119 Shipped with Onepass if you are ok with the red colour. The only difference really is the GBX has a metal bezel on top of the resin case with a slightly different band design. And the module inside is 99% identical only the Tide info available as an extra on the GBX.

Dammit! The all white square DW5600MW-7D sold by Catch was $91 Shipped with Onepass last night and I was about to share it now but when I refresh the page, they removed the Onepass price!
No more Onepass option. Just $130 + shipping now. 🙃

    • I just checked and all of the models in OP's deal don't have the Onepass price anymore either.
Looks like Onepass offers only last for a short period, so good idea to buy quickly if you see one in the future.
