Attack on Titan Vol. 1 (208 pages)
In this post-apocalytpic sci-fi story, humanity has been devastated by the bizarre, giant humanoids known as the Titans. Little is known about where they came from or why they are bent on consuming mankind. Seemingly unintelligent, they have roamed the world for years, killing everyone they see. For the past century, what's left of man has hidden in a giant, three-walled city. People believe their 100-meter-high walls will protect them from the Titans, but the sudden appearance of an immense Titan is about to change everything. Winner of the 2011 Kodansha Manga Award (Shonen) and nominated for the prestigious Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize for 2012.

Battle Angel Alita Vol. 1 (225 pages)
In a dump in the lawless settlement of Scrapyard, far beneath the mysterious space city of Zalem, disgraced cyber-doctor Daisuke Ido makes a strange find: the detached head of a cyborg woman who has lost all her memories. He names her Alita and equips her with a powerful new body, the Berserker. While Alita remembers no details of her former life, a moment of desperation reawakens in her nerves the legendary school of martial arts known as Panzer Kunst. In a place where there is no justice but what people make for themselves, Alita decides to become a hunter-killer, tracking down and taking out those who prey on the weak. But can she hold onto her humanity as she begins to revel in her own bloodlust?

Vinland Saga Vol. 1 (470 pages)
FOR HONOR AND VENGEANCE As a child, Thorfinn sat at the feet of the great Leif Ericson and thrilled to wild tales of a land far to the west. But his youthful fantasies were shattered by a mercenary raid. Raised by the Vikings who murdered his family, Thorfinn became a terrifying warrior, forever seeking to kill the band's leader, Askeladd, and avenge his father. Sustaining Throfinn through his ordeal are his pride in his family and his dreams of a fertile westward land, a land without war or slavery…the land Leif called Vinland.

  • What app do you need to view this?

Google Play books & audiobooks app

  • Thanks OP. what's the go to site for picking up more manga/ graphic novels at decent prices?

    • Comixology

      https://www.amazon.com/kindle-dbs/comics-store/home

Amazon bought them out, they still have good sales on sometimes though.

For mangas you can check Viz too

      https://www.viz.com/read

Lots of "illegal" sites you can read them for free around if you use an adblocker (Brave browser for iOS/Android has Adblock built in or on Android you can use Firefox Mobile with uBlock)

I usually sample the stuff on the illegal sites and if the pricing is reasonable will buy it legit to support the author, some series go downhill quickly though and aren't worth the buy imho. Some have fantastic art and I like to get them physically but read it online still on the pirate site to protect the book haha I'm a bit odd like that.

      • Awesome thanks mate

Can't you just get this at the local library for free? And more than just the first volume too!

    • Can be hard to get the issues at the library, normally just have a strange assortment of volumes available with the rest out on loan. Doesn't take long to read through one and then having to wait is annoying. Best to look it up through the libraries ebook app.

  • Aren't they all free on Libby?

Kodansha's having a massive sale accross ebook platforms, not just google play and not just the titles listed by OP.
Though for other platforms it's only on the US stores. Easy enough to change for Kobo, not sure about kindle.

Haven't really read that many of them really.
I remember enjoying Your Lie in April, Sweat and Soap, Land of the Lustrous.
I've watched and enjoyed anime adaptations of Noragami, Forest of Piano, Reincarnated as a Slime, Cells at Work, O Maidens in Your Savage Season.
I've heard good things about Blue Period, Witch Hat Atelier, Flowers of Evil, Vinland Saga, Drifting Dragons
Also skimmed and enjoyed Quality Assurance in Another World, though maybe I'm biased as I work in QA.
