Anyone know which usb controller it needs to be about to use it with Windows?

    The genuine one is expensive!

That's a third party seller you're looking at. You can get it much cheaper from an official retailer.

        OOS everywhere with BigW.

Ebay sellers have it for about $30 but the ones I could see all shipped from China. I presume they'd work fine though. JB have it bundled with a controller for $87 though.

        • I wonder if that's the one that supports wireless sound though… (with the controller)

not having the pc connector is a bit of a deal killer… the bigw one says stereo only… again another deal killer.
          "Wireless stereo sound support"

          no bluetooth either…

edit assume the one below is also only stereo…

https://modsquad.com.au/xbox-wireless-adapter/ bought from here and it's been great.

Based on Rtings review , the sound quality isn’t that great .

    • I have this one and also razer kraken wireless. While razer is better for gaming this one is much better for music and video.

Build quality is great. I have one for ps4. Really good.

  • Cheapest ever according to CCC.

Decent headset but don't get it if you plan to use it on PC, got it originally for my Xbox and worked great but was a nightmare to use with PC and it will not work without Xbox PC adapter

I had one, had to return it due to buzzing static noise in the left channel. apparently it's a well known issue

updating to latest firmware (for which you need to download 1.5GB piece of software) didn't resolve it.

shame because sound was good overall.

got razer Kaira on a good discount and happy ever since. light, wireless, solid, sounds great, lasts forever.

    • Agree, the Razer Kaira is the better option.

    • How much did you buy the Kaira for?

      • 80 on eBay sale

that was Kaira, non-Pro. didn't care about Bluetooth and still don't for this headset. xbox only

    No cat ears, pass.

  • Awaiting this sort of deal on the actual Xbox wireless headset…

  • Without doing any research myself, can anyone explain how it achieves low latency audio? Is it via wifi instead of Bluetooth?

    • using Xbox Wireless for low-latency and high-quality gameplay… (i didn't do any research either :-)..)

    • It's wifi band 5ghz. I have one

      • Does this only work on Xbox, or dongle+PC?
And is it open back or closed?

        • It works on Xbox. For pc you need a Xbox wireless adapter. It's closed back

  • Had a mate buy this for $150 on sale a month ago. Don’t have the heart to tell him

  • Got one!
