POCO X4 GT 5G Any Good?

Need a new phone around the $300 USD budget are these any good and will 5G work in OZ?
Main use, looking at PDF in the sun, web browsing and Waze.
Could I do better with my hard earned cash?

Anything without a warranty is not a good deal.

    Hard agree with CC.
If it was me, not especially huge on getting a great camera, I would look at a Moto G82. Killer 120hz screen, processor is fast enough for what you mentioned doing and bricks and mortar backup from JB, where it has just been marked down to $349. OK, not the mega deal from 2022, but still good buying.

I have one and love it. 0-100% in 17 min is amazing. No need to charge overnight anymore: I put it on charge when I go in the shower, and it's done by the time I've finished my morning routine. (No comment on the specific store you've linked, just the phone itself.)

Oops, I misread. I actually have the F4 GT. Sorry.

I have the POCO x3 GT, and it's been great - good battery, hardware, cheap. See if you can use an alternate OS, but otherwise just go through settings and enable privacy stuff (standard stuff for phones / software, but more important for mi UI stuff IMO)

I have an X3 Pro and it's been fine, but there are a couple of things that are annoying: VoLTE/VoWIFI doesn't work because of the stupid way that VoLTE has to be setup with the provider for each phone type. It also seems to keep doing some sort of power save thing where it shuts down the GPS while I'm using android auto. Opening maps on the phone makes it start working again for another 10 minutes - but you can't do that if you're in the driver's seat.

You didn't ask, but my poco f3 is great. Would recommend

I have one of these. I didn't like it and have got a new phone. The hardware is good and I had no trouble with 5G or the screen. I didn't like the software. The version I have has ads and lots of bloatware embedded into basic functions like theme and sounds and the settings menu. Something about that made me feel uneasy.

As someone mentioned above you could potentially use a different OS to avoid the software problems.
