I was checking the JB Hi-Fi site for RE4 remake and stumbled upon their deal to trade in 2 selected games towards the game on PS5 for free.

      Guess PS+ kills any value JB gives to Sony games, which explains why that list is so lacking in first party games (although you still have Stray there despite it being a high profile game for the service)

      If you haven’t played the demo I suggest you do. There are gameplay changes and the graphics are insanely improved.

      The original still stands up well, but why not bring it into the new generation of consoles for newcomers (and old ones too) to enjoy?

        The game is more than just it's appearance, it was made by a team of people who created it from the ground up. That shines through all aspects of the game. Remakes are made by a remake team, they will always be superficial. Just very shiny, with no substance. And if a new gen wants to enjoy RE2004 its available on most consoles often on sale for about $10.

          We get it. You haven’t played the demo.
          Nearly aspect of the original has been improved upon greatly, and as good as OG RE4 was, it hasn’t aged well. And I’m not talking graphically.

          "Remasters" are generally the superficial re-releases of games that offer no additional improvements other than visual.
          "Remakes" are built from the ground up using the original as a reference but with quality of life improvements that you come to expect with modern games.

      Damn, I didn't realise so many good games were coming out this soon. Zelda TOTK, RE4, Jedi Survivor, Diablo 4, Final Fantasy 16 and Dead Island 2 are all on my wanted list.

    Traded in Dead Space and Plague Tale today.

    The sales person did their best but the JB backend must be a complete mess. At first it wouldn't register Dead Space in the system at all, then it wouldn't validate Plague Tale as one of the titles on the list.

    Battled through it and game out with my free copy.
