  • What's a typical use case for one of these?

    • It's a memory card bro, its for storing digital media etc goes in a camera or other multimedia device. It's useful as the transfer speeds are gen 3 nvme equivalent so moving large files, pictures, recordings, video is much easier between devices.

fair question because i never heard of this before

it looks like only high end slrs and mirrorless and maybe motion cameras use them

the only camera i can find that uses it is $2,000 and it goes up

Thanks for the replies. I didn't realise that cameras used them. I have always known prosumer grade cameras to use sd card.

  • Is $399 the rrp or is there a discount/bargain somewhere?

  • 400mb/s sustained write is simply not worth it for videos and most likely 20fps burst pics at full res in any camera (I.e. Nikon Z9) this is designed for. Angelbird SE seem to be a common baseline value vs performance with minimum 800mb/s sustained write.
