Desktop computer

Hey Guys,

My sister is looking at purchasing a desktop computer for the family. Doesn’t need to be fancy used mainly for web browsing, watching movies etc. Preferably with screen and all peripherals (mouse, keyboard, webcam) Please throw open some ideas, obviously cheaper the better but doesn’t mind spending extra cash if it means newer technology and better build quality.

  • Whats the budget?, there is too many variables without at least a dollar value.

  • If you need a screen too, you're probably better off buying laptop….there's plenty of decent ones around the $500 mark

  • Reworked:

    $369.00

    Intel® Celeron® Processor G530
    2GB RAM
    500GB drive

Windows 7 OEM $99 (choose prior to checkout)

    Keyboard and Camera:
Logitech Wired Desktop MK120 $19 Officeworks
    Logitech C210 webcam $19 OfficeWorks

    Screen:
    LG E2351VR $150 MSY pickup

Grand total for Desktop, Peripherals and Screen: $557 dollars

  • Sorry for not mentioning budget. Budget would be under $500 if possible.

    • If you can build it yourself, it'll be much cheaper:

      Prices from MSY:

      Intel G630 $67
      AsRock H61M-HVS $48
      4G Kit AMD-Entertainment 1600mhz RAM $26
      1TB Seagate $88
      Coolermaster RC371 $44
      Thermaltake 500 OEM $44
      Windows 7 OEM $89

      $403 out of $500 budget
You can get MSY to build it for you but they charge $70 for labour.

That leaves you about a hundred bucks for a screen.

      • and it shouldnt cost more than 50 to slap it all together :) if you cant/dont do it yourself

  • Wait for a Dell desktop sale with stackable coupon.
