  No IS / VR. Hm… sorry, I cannot hold camera with that size lens properly (I even get camera shake with nifty 50 at times). Too lazy to use tripod… Rookie DSLR photographer like me (actually with my skills, photographer is the wrong term, rookie DSLR user is more appropriate) does not need this lens anyway.

    in this universe something that heavier is more stable

    with this lens (1.2kg) and a larger SLR (700gm) you're looking at a very stable platform anyway
