hey rep, what about giving us free shipping?

    • +2

unfortunately this is the best we can do. it's much lower compared to elsewhere.

  • Any NAS experts know the difference between the RNDU4000 and the Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ RND4000 which was on here last month for $199 delivered from computer alliance?

    • +1
      • Great link. Thanks for the info jetair.

If the info is correct - $245 for the RNDU4000 looks to be a great deal. Now to do some more frantic reading and research before deciding is this model or one of the other Ultras or V2s are the best for my little home media serving setup - and to see if I can find clarification on the conflicting info whether or not they can handle 3gb drives…

        • 3gb drives? wow, how's that 386 running these days? ;)

        • +1

It isn't. GEOS on my Commodore 64 meets all my computing needs!

To eliminate any confusion, the questin mark is over 3 tb drives, and despite all the specs saying the rndu4000 is limited to 8tb total storage, a number of 3tb drives appear on the compatibility list. Hmmm…

        • +1

Indeed there seems to be confusion in the specs about capacity.
The product specs here: http://www.netgear.com.au/home/products/storage/advanced-pro… suggest 8TB total capacity.
While the linked data sheet here: http://www.netgear.com.au/images/ReadyNAS_Ultra_DS_05Aug1187… suggests 12TB.

I'd be willing to think it is the 12TB capacity which was only allowed since a firmware upgrade allowed 3TB drive compatibility.

Proliant N40L for ~$230 delivered perhaps?

    • I will love everyone forever.

    • I am willing to pay $230 + shipping even

    • +1

      hi krisspy,

N40L's not likely to reach that price anytime soon unfortunately.

The Netgear prices are for this weekend only and the RNDU4000 usually cost at least $200 more than the HP N40L.

  • how about some deal on synology?

  • The heading inside the OP is massively confusing…

    ii. Netgear ReadyNAS Ultra 4 Bay RNDU4000 - $449 = $399 after $50 Netgear Visa Card Redemption

Then it says a completely different price in the text below that, and in the thread title.

    • edited, thanks for pointing out

  • Do you need to use NETGEAR visa card or is any visa card acceptable to receive bonus? Never heard of a Netgear Visa card.

Wireless1 Parramatta Westfield, offered me their one of 2 units left for $99 for those interested.

    • what did wireless1 offer you for $99?
      RNDU2000 or RNDU4000 or N40L?

  • hi shoppingexpress,
is postage free pickup available for the RNDU4000?
    from alexandria?
    thanks,

  • Great deal on the RNDU4000! I have been hanging out for something like this since missing out on the NV+ that was on here a few months back.

  • Any chance of the rnd4000 nv+ v2 on special? Please.

    Msy have it for $429.

    • Out of interest, why are you interested in the RND4000 NV+ v2 when this deal has the better spec'ed RNDU4000 Ultra for much less? Are their some features or usages of the nv+ that the Ultra doesn't have?

      • Not sure actually. I didnt look at the specs, now I did so I bought it haha. I didn't realise it was so cheap.

        NB+ v2 has usb3 and…….not sure what else actually.

  • Does any one know how is this netgear compared to qnap t412 or synology ds 212j?
And with this one can i share pics with friends and family and is there any andriod app for it.

    Thanks

    • In regard to the photo sharing, this is what you are looking for: http://www.readynas.com/?p=5370
