    Ehe te nandayo, thanks dude.

  • Cheers man you're a legend

Anyone starting out should try to get nahida. Even with only the most basic 4 star characters (any electro/hydro or even dendro) supporting her, you’ll have an abyss ready team since hyperbloom reactions are OP even at low investment.

    • I would disagree, I think Ganyu is better for new player.
She is an army herself at C0, Her best artifact set comes from everyday boss, so you don't need to farm specifically. And she performs well with any 3, 4,5 star bow.

      • Oof, definitely do not pull ganyu. The most limiting thing in this game are pulls since it’s a gacha and wasting them because you can farm artifacts easier is a horrible reason. Her best teams are ganyu melt and freeze. Both are quite limited in terms of damage potential and are also horrible to play (in my opinion).

Source: my experience from having her with the 5 star Amos bow, her best supports and also this site showing she’s barely used https://akashadata.com/

I dont know if its because im console/mobile and maybe pc is better for bows (headshot passive on a bow?) But i was underwhelmed when i finally got ganyu. Yes she does a lot of damage but i wouldnt choose her over nahida. She doesnt enable you to use a lot of other units in different combinations, to the extent of nahida.

        • -1

Nahida you still need a team, and other C6 4 stars, dedicated artifacts.
          And a second team.

On the other hand, Ganyu herself can 33 star Abyss easily without too much effort.
And you can focus rest resources on second team.

          Yes I play on PC.

My words don't mean much, YouTube C0 Ganyu Solo Abyss, and you can see for yourself.

          • @Vater Woods: I dont doubt Ganyu. I have her. The damage is good, consistent, and boring.
Its two different play styles and one is more monotonous than the other.
Abyss isnt the whole game either. Some dont play it at all.

            • @Cinnamon Crunch: I understand.

But Chillbro's comment was aimed at new player. And Ganyu meet the least investment for one of the best DPS.

Nahida, or Nahida team, would require 4 times the investment, in my experience, its about half year of grind and banners. Not convenient for new players.

              • @Vater Woods: For new players, ganyu would be better simply because you can go to Liyue early in the game, to get materials to level up the character. For Nahida you’d have to go through the Zhongli archon quest, then Raiden’s. That means the newb Nahida would stay at Lvl 40 for the longest time, with low talent levels to add.

I’m almost ar60 and just got to Sumeru myself

Regardless, my advice would be to go for a character you like, make sure their game is for you. Definitely helps if the character is a main dps.
                Main> sub dps> support

              • @Vater Woods: Didn't see your comment earlier since you didn't reply to me. Unless you spend money, the limiting factor will be the number of pulls you get so it's important to invest in characters that pay off in the long term. And in the long term, she falls off hard which is why her usage rate in the abyss is so low. Additionally, very few people enjoy Ganyu's playstyle since you need her charged attacks to play her optimally which requires aiming.

in my experience, its about half year of grind and banners.

Sorry it took you that long but it definitely doesn't require you to grind for 6 months before you can full star the abyss. I was able to get full stars on a f2p account within 3 months with much less effective characters. Since you suggested looking up a video earlier, here's a f2p player who was able to full star the abyss within a week.
Admittedly, he was lucky to have gotten both nilou and nahida but it demonstrates that amazing artifacts aren't necessary to do insane levels of damage even with low investment due to the nature of hyperbloom reactions.

                • @ChillBro: You are forgetting this is a gacha game, and the worst part is the artifacts system.
I started at V2. 3, and at V3. 5 is my first time 36 star. You can work out how long that is.

To this date, I only have one good artifact set, that is Wonderer's Troupe on Ganyu.

You can't use your luck(3 month 36 star) as an benchmark, you are more than welcome to do a poll, and see the average time F2P or Low spender took to 36 star.
I believe the poll has been done multiple time on Youtube, and the average is no where near 3 month.

But back to Original Point, for new Players, I stick with Ganyu is better.
And if you ask Wei, Cat, Sevy, they all would agree.

                  • @Vater Woods:

gacha game, and the worst part is the artifacts system.

FYI, the RNG of the artifact system is independent of it being a gacha game. Numerous other types of games have RNG loot as well.

You can't use your luck(3 month 36 star)

It wasn't luck, I just listened better advice from people who didn't tell me to pull for characters simply 'because you can get their artifacts faster'.

Since you have no intention on looking at the links I've provided, I'm going to refrain on commenting further. I just hope that new players do their own research to avoid wasting pulls getting overrated characters and end up dropping the game a few months in when they realise their mistake.

                    • @ChillBro: The link you provided was required me to download an app, which I have no intention of.

But if you are referring to a player 36 star Abyss in a week, I think I have heard that story aswell.
But from YouTube, he is not a F2P, and he spent well over 200k on the account.
Other, than that, I have not heard any F2P 36 star Abyss in a week, unless its a private server.

  • Dumb question; what did this mean?
    Banner 1: 5* Nilou + 5* Nahida
    Banner 2: 5* Baizhu + 5* Ganyu with 4* Kaveh

Do we get these for free now if so, how?

    • It's inaccurately written, but means in the first half of v3.6 (banner 1), there will be two separate character banners listed at the same time, and in the second half of v3.6 (banner 2) there will be another two character banners.
When you gamble on each respective banner, there will be increased probability of obtaining the listed characters.

You can't get them for free, and by free, I assume you mean zero-effort in obtaining it.
Technically you can just play the game normally without spending any money, and still obtain it 'for free'

      • Thanks mate, new to the game, just got the AR10, so finding my way around the myriad of combinations and names and complexities of this game.

What is V3.6? Is it an event? So I need to 'wish' and I will have a high chance to get the listed characters?

        • V just means the latest version of the game. It means there is new content in the game. You'll won't reach the new content for a while at AR10. There's plenty of content between starting players and the latest story areas/chapters.

Wishing or pulling just means gambling for characters/equipment. Each wish/pull costs 160 gems which was about AUD$3.20 2 years ago. You can play the game and obtain gems for free, but nowhere near the quantities you will want to get all of the 5 star characters and equipment. You will have to be content with what you end up with and don't go down the rabbit hole of gambling with your credit card.

        • Short answer, you don't have a high chance of getting the listed characters. Just a higher chance than other characters. It is a fairly f2p friendly game but it takes time to get started. You need to play quite a long time to get a decent roster but once you do, there is barely any power creep and you can just pull the units you enjoy and don't have to keep up with the meta.

        • Yeah, xastros is correct.
If you Wish a few times, you'll have a higher chance than other charcters.

The details and percentages are all actually documented in the banner page. I strongly recommend reading that so you can manage your own expectations

          • @Blitzfx: Thanks guys ! I'll just keep playing.
