I've always wanted a Mudmaster, particularly this black one with positive display, and I've waited long enough. Time to pull the trigger.

Twin Sensor MASTER OF G MUDMASTER Series. Mud Resist construction helps to ensure that nothing gets into the watch when down and dirty work takes you deep into the dirt and sludge. Multiple gaskets are used on the pipes that guide buttons and shafts, which keeps mud out. These pipes not only act to protect buttons from impact, they also enhance button operation.

What’s next on the radar after this?

Supposed to be saving for a vintage Doxa, but I get distracted very easily. Lately I've bought a lot of whisky after hardly buying any for a few years (could have bought 2 Doxas). And overpriced shit from END that's on sale (another Doxa).

I'm also looking at 32" 4k monitors even though I have no need for one because my 27" QHD and 22" ones are perfectly fine and all I need.

I imagined you would actually have gone LG C2 42" OLED 4K Tv as a monitor type of operator actually

Literally had one in my cart during TTG ebay sale, and then sold out :(

          • @rosebank: There were a few of those 42 inch C2 deals from different stores at similar price (~$1k) you managed to miss those?

      • You must have some serious dough.

Personally I'd skip this model and go for the GWG-1000 Mudmaster.
It's just better in every way. Sure it comes with a higher price tag but solar power plus Japan-made ensures it'll last and last. The lack of solar on the GG-1000 Mudmasters is pretty dismal.

That's a very nice watch, but G-Shocks to me are like fun toy watches, and I don't even use half the functions. I tap out at $300.

        • and I don't even use half the functions.

Yeah with a Mudmaster more like you won't use even 1/50th of the functions lol. So many frigging modes and button combinations/timings to remember. Honestly some people LOVE that kind of thing, but unless you use all those features (adventurer?) on a daily you won't remember them.

          I tap out at $300.

I 100% agree with this in isolation. Most G-shocks that are over $400 start becoming flashy/gaudy and just not that tasteful IMO. The best G-shocks are the tasteful models for the common user.
Personally I think the Mudmaster is pushing it for me in terms of aesthetics.

      • Cheapest I've seen this in the last 3 years is $660, so bit of a price difference, also can recommend the -1A3 variant as the best colour option.

Got one 2 Christmas’s ago for $562, patiently searched for a few weeks and found one.
I also would pay extra for the upgrade, which I did.

        • Cheapest I've seen this in the last 3 years is $660

They were going for $600 on Kogan last year. As adventurouslion mentioned, they've been even lower previously, you just have to hunt around for a bit.

Cheers OP, just purchased one. Great addition to my collection. As much as i like the tripple sensor version GWG-1000-1A3, at more than twice the price it's hard to justify. Maybe if the price drops to $500 i'll go for it. The twin sensor will be a great everyday watch

  • Hey OP and other watch folk. Don't think I can post this as a deal so here it is.

What do you guys think of this? lol. https://sugotoys.com.au/product/fsphttosk112/ (it's not a working clock, just aesthetics)

Thought some of you collectors might find it quirky and be interested.
