So let me get this right

You used an offer of buy 1 get 1 free. But you just want to get 1 free, and omit the whole buying part?

I'm going to say that's not what they meant, because I'd lose a lot of faith in our community if that is what they meant.

Knowing some of the pearlers of ‘ i lose faith in this community type’ threads in the last 10 or so years - I no longer rule anything out.

Hang around these forums more and you'll get it, young padawan

      • I remembered when I was studying at unimelb, I knew some folks used Hungry Jack's app to get free stuff without paying a penny every other day and I was surprised they asked me to do the same (facepalm). I didn't know whose marketing idea was it but it couldn't be worse and not sure how much Hungry Jack paid for that non-sense marketing strategy.

        • Is that the shake and win thing?
It's designed to get you in store and maybe you want a drink with those free chips? Still hungry? we got burgers too.

          • @FireRunner: ah yeah, it is. i forgot the name. those guys only got free stuff and never bought anything from the store. those guys even said it didn't worth to pay money for the food from Hungry Jack, it was quite ironic lol.

            • @vchar: I guess their marketing doesn't work on broke uni students lol

              • @FireRunner: I was a broke uni student but never take advantage on things like this so please don't generalize. those guys aren't broke uni students and some even had good jobs or at least made a decent amount of money or were from rich families. it was just that how much they have doesn't change their exploitation mindset :).

                • @vchar: I don't think what they did was necessarily wrong. They weren't exploiting a glitch.
The "shake and win" wasn't presented as a here's a freebie but we expect you to buy something in good faith.
It was a tactic to get people in store to buy more but there was no requirement or expectation to do so.
From my understanding, it let you shake multiple times a day not all the prizes were freebies but you could play again if you didn't like the prize.
If they created multiple accounts and kept switching accounts until they won a good prize (or claimed multiple freebies) then I'd say they're abusing the promotion. But if it's just claiming a freebie whenever it was presented, I think it's fine.

                  • @FireRunner: Or they were using screenshots of wins, and the employees were happy to accept those?

Otherwise yeah I'd think multiple accounts

                  • @FireRunner: you are right and they were on the wrong side unfortunately.

I assume they're talking about the free medium cheese pizza for giving feedback

And the answer seems to be no

And yes OP should have clarified this.

    • That's what it sounded like to me too. Strange but I needed a laugh.

You order the pizza, go there and ask them to cancel your order. Once that's done, tell them that you're against wastage and you'll take it instead of them throwing it out.

Once in buffet resturant i worked at, we were closing for lunch and a table of customers didn't want to leave. This was about 4pm.

When i asked them to leave, they mentioned that it was all you can eat and that they're weren't finished. They were trying to stay until the dinner service.

I told them centre security can escort you out if needed.

Mr. Simpson, this is the most blatant case of false advertising since my suit against the film 'The Neverending Story'.

Hutz: Mrs. Simpson, in your own words, please tell us what happened after you and your husband were ejected from the restaurant.
Marge: We pretty much went straight home.
Hutz: Remember, Mrs. Simpson, you're still under oath.
Marge: We drove around until 3:00 in the morning looking for another open all-you-can-eat seafood restaurant.
Hutz: And when you couldn't find any?
        Marge: (crying) We went fishing!
Hutz: Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, do these sound like the actions of a man who's had ALL he could eat?
Fat Juror: That could have been me!
