Hotel Recommendation in Brisbane Area - Doesn't Have to Be CBD

Travelling to Brisbane in late June for a week with my teenage son, and looking for hotel recommendations.

Keen for somewhere with onsite parking (we are hiring a car), a heated pool, and near a tennis court if possible!

Is searching on booking dot com and reading reviews on tripadvisor the easiest way to find a good place? Tips/advice welcome.

Booking.com , pick Brisbane as location , pick the days, tick the free car parking and pool options. And search.

  • Try Toowong area - near Sylvan Rd and Jephson St area. Tennis courts nearby next to Toowong Primary school area. Close to CBD access if required.

    • I stayed for a couple of nights in December and the hotel is fine but the design might not be to everyone's taste. My only real complaints are the bar service by the pool was hopeless and very slow and the mini bar was ridiculously expensive even by mini bar standards. The pool has speakers under water so you can hear music while you swim lol. From memory the onsite parking was also quite expensive.

Rooms are anywhere from ~$350/night but work paid for my stay. No idea what OP's budget is though.

  • I found Hyatt with the Amex $80 discount was cheaper than most other hotels for a recent 2 night stay. Much nicer than staying in a motel and around the same price.

  • Use trivago to search for hotels then use Qantas app to make actual bookings. Gotta get those QFF points, especially when there are bonus QFF points to be had e.g. 2x or 3x QFF point hotel deals. Then use your QFF credit card to earn more QFF points by linking Qantas app with QFF credit card. And when you're waiting at the airports, enjoy complimentary lounge pass because of your QFF credit card (if applicable). Don't forget to book your hired car through Qantas app for more QFF points. And so on and so forth etc.

Also, don't forget to check Qantas app for restauarant deals. Don't forget to also get Qantas Wellbeing to get more QFF points simply for walking, swimming, playing tennis etc.
