[eBay Plus] Dyson V11 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner $836.07 Delivered @ Dyson eBay

TOPBRANDSAPRILPLUSTOPAPRIL

Seems like the best price the v11 has ever been from a quick search of OzBargain. More suck for your buck. Not that I can justify spending this kind of money on a vacuum cleaner simply for the conveniance of cordless. My Dreame v9 is still holding up… just.

  • Great find, if it came with the fluffy head I would be jumping all over this

  • +1

Would be an awesome deal if you got the fluffer for free

  • My V11 has finally kicked it after 4 years …
Still deciding if I'm happy enough with that service at the $1300 asking price from 2019, not sure if there is anything more reliable than Dyson out there?
LG is like an enigma on OzB

    • You can just buy the replacement battery, if it's due to no power or battery slow down. Dyson sell direct with delivery

    • what's wrong with it? they can be fixed

      • I've had a number of issues:
        1) the head swivel is broken, looks like I could possibly buy new parts for $7.
        2) the trigger is stuffed causing it to cut in and out (mostly out), Dyson already fixed out of warranty at the 2.5 year mark.
        3) seal on the bin falls out, I can't see they offer this part for replacement anymore, there was entire bin replacement but it wasn't cheap when it's one small seal issue only, either way can't find that component on their site now as they've stated they've shifted resources to the newer models.

Battery has actually been good, my previous Dyson killed 2 batteries in 3 years of use, hence my slight frustration that for such an expensive machine they seem to last 3-4 years…

Main consideration whether I throw maybe $200-$300 to fix it only for potential for battery to die next, am I throwing money after a 4yo dying (already dead) machine, better to just start again?

not great, all of those parts should be able to source on ebay & the likes for not a huge amount of $, the strengthened trigger can be 3d printed (I've replaced mine) or can also be sourced online if you are handy you could replace yourself or take to a vacuum cleaner repair place (where are you based?)

          • @Irishness: Thanks for good suggestions 😊 , I'm relatively handy but really over dealing with this Dyson lol…
            Perth based.

Dyson have said to drop it off at their service centre for assessment which I'll try first and see what they say. Maybe my expectations are too high but 2 Dyson's in a row with issues around 2.5 years has left a bitter taste …

            • @cook99: What did you have before the dyson?

No judgement or snark here, but is it possible you're quite rough with vacuums? Or maybe you've just had really bad luck with your units so far.

I'm still using my V6 and V7 bought ages ago. The only thing I've had to do is replace the V6 battery.

              • +1

@andresampras: the V6 is a much simpler vacuum & better built IMO, the V10/V11 are known to have faults

                • @Irishness: that's a pity.

I wonder if the V12 and newer have issues too…..was considering buying one.

              • @andresampras: Think it was a DC44 or V6 before the V11, batteries frying has nothing to do with being too rough, but the V11 could absolutely be a contributor on the head issue.
Trigger and seal are pretty well known and documented issues online, I think the quality dropped on this model as per Irishman comments.
The Gen5Detect is appealing for the switch instead of trigger, but no deals on new model kinda hurts right now…
Before that it was a Dyson pull along(pre ball) that is still going strong to this day, but too cumbersome for everyday use once you've gone stick you can't go back

            • @cook99: no doubt, Dyson are well aware of the faults & why they don't do something about them quicker than they do I have no idea. The trigger is so cheaply made & there's an easy after market fix so why couldn't dyson do the same is anyones guess. The V6 I had was well made & lasted, the V10 I've had troubles with notably the trigger but the battery isn't great either (it's a similar machine to the v11)

good luck with Dyson, given their prices you would think their customer service / warranty would be better

              • @Irishness: Yes. My old Dc44 is still on duty… He is handling all dust and bugs: ants, moths, spiders. Good quality.

              • @Irishness: Planned obsolescence/early failure to increase service $ or force new purchase is my cynical view of why they don't fix well known issues with obvious and simple solutions.
I applaud their engineering and continuous improvement, but at the end of the day they are a business with one goal to make $$$

                • @cook99: agree they are a business to make $$ but I'd bet the margins they make on their products are already quite high, the benchmark to me is weber who have great customer service & warranty (you pay for what you get)

  • $799 currently at JB - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/dyson-v11-handstick-vacuu… - misses out on bonus attachments though.

  • Also still running my Dreame V9 - still love it (just the battery life gets a bit short now for the house (but easy to split the chore in half). Still plenty of life in it and no need to replace!
