Personally, I still haven't "forgiven" Coca-Cola Amatil for the original Mother flavour.
But if you're keen to try a sugar-free version, $1 off is ok.

If the regular price is servo super inflated then $1 off might not be much good either compared to what it can generally be had for elsewhere. If anyone knows what they typically go for, please do mention it!
Yeh, last time I was in a Coles Express, they had them 2 for $4 - so I tried it then.. Tasted pretty much the same as regular Mother.
Pretty sure they ran through at $3-something, so they'd be under $3. Still not as good as the usual "2 for" deals.
i couldnt remember how the original tasted but it was nothing short of disgusting
I remember being asked to complete a survey on the original mother. I told them it tasted like the strainings of the devils underpants. Not long afterwards they released the new formula. I like to think that my comments were brought up at a board meeting and convinced them all to abandon the original formula.
That was probably one of the nicer things said about it.
I must say, I'm not in a particular hurry to try another variation of Mother. My taste buds are still in counseling after the product's first release.
Normally drink Monster (Low Carb were I can find it otherwise full sugar - Green) but recently brought a 4 pack of the 250ml Sugar Free Mother cans from IGA where they were on Special (I think $5.29). The taste isn't too bad actually.
And yes, I agree with the previous comments regarding the crap taste of the original Mother - If it was strained through the devils underpants, then he must of had a hot bean and rice curry the night before.
I tried monster about 3 months ago, it is disgusting. I couldn't finish it and threw most of the can away. My wife bought me a 4 pack as it was cheap at woolies and the remaining 3 cans are in he cupboard for give aways.

I preferred the original Mother flavour because it didn't taste like every other generic energy drink out there.
I quite enjoy the Lemon mother over the original. Haven't tried the blue one yet, the orange one was just a little weird tasting. Might have to make a run out to the shops now =]
At my local Coles Express, Mother Sugar Free retails for about $4.29 from memory (500 or 550ml can, w/e) so yeah, $3.29-ish for the big can. Not bad if you are on the run and normally get your energy hit from a servo stop. Not going to go into the disastrous health issues with energy drinks but yeah, not a bad deal.

they sell the sugary-version for about a dollar less ($3.21 IIRC)so this discount brings it down to the price for sugar mother

I agree, the original flyspray flavoured mother was pretty bloody awful.
