So, non alcoholic tequila for the price of normal liquor? Hm, let me think…

This is a very good point as this is how it seems to be across the board. They try to have it both ways too, because they claim alcohol is expensive due to the alcohol excise tax, and then put out non-alcoholic drinks that do not attract that tax at the same price. Irritates me.

The world has gone mad .. what is this crap and who the hell would drink it?

i have recently supplemented my liquor cabinet with a cordial/syrup selection. https://www.cnsd.com.au/flavoured-syrups/

        weird flex but ok

      • You bought mixers. Cool?

        • makes more sense than non-alcoholic mixers at alcoholic prices. but get some quality syrups, you'll thank yourself. its a pleasant treat.

@StorminNorman: But there isn't a single person here who's expressed interest in buying non-alcoholic mixers at alcoholic prices?

This is the weirdest plug I've ever seen.

      • Where'd you buy them? That looks like distributors only?

        • I got some from out there on a road trip last year, then I've stocked up when at malany, the icecream/lolly shop on the mainstreet stocks them. there are other syrup makers around Australia, and there is bickfords as a supermarket brand (also the Buderim ginger refresher)

  • Based on reviews the non alcoholic spirits seems to have no taste or bite.

Looked at the ingredients for a few and I can see why.

    Juniper, citrus flavours, peppermint
    Vanilla, toasted nuts, herbal notes

There's no main character, there's just put a bunch of sideshows in.

    • They are correct. Bought a couple of bottles last time it was marked down and frankly I'm unimpressed. It mostly tastes like chlorinated (pool) water. If you close your eyes and try really hard you get a very mild tequila aftertaste, but I'm never buying this again. Was hoping it would have some of the punch of tequila, but it's best to just save your money and drink water instead.

Water, Sugar, Natural Flavours, Acidity Regulator (Malic Acid), Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid), Salt, Preservative (Potassium Sorbate).

      Where's the agave?

A 700ml bottle of 40% booze comes with a tax bill of $25 - so a $35 bottle of tequila is really only costing you $10 plus tax.

A 700ml alcohol free bottle for $35 ? There's no tax bill… That price is a complete rort.

Agree! There's a place for non-alcoholic drinks, but price point should be sub $15!

  • COUSIN (profanity)!!!

  • Non-alcoholic Tequila….isn't that an oxymoron?

  • theres only one reason I drink tequila and its not because I like the taste…
