Is There Something Else I Can Do to Report a Car Parked on The Footpath since The Council Doesn't Seem to Care

Not trying to be a karma, but I have talked to the guy nicely about how he can just park it down the street which 99% have a spot and like less than a minute walk from his unit.

I have seen so much strollers and disables getting block by it. And now I gotten a broken leg and it's causing me problem now. Council is 'Georges River Council'

Anyone where else I can raise this issue to?

Make a formal complaint in writing to the council. Phone call may be classified as an inquiry as the person taking the call does not want to enter the complaint.
You can try to find a council ranger in an area where there are metered parking and ask them what can be done.

      or use the SnapSendSolve app.

The council pays a fee for each incident you report, so keep sending it until they fix it….

Learning about this app has made my day thanks! So sick of calling the council about jerks parking across my driveway

        • This way you can take a photo of the car/rego too… Much better than just calling.

  • How did you break your leg?

    • +9

"I have talked to the guy nicely"

      and

"And now I gotten a broken leg"

    • Did op break it trying to walk around a car parking on the footpath?

Tripped over a tree root at the golf club, perhaps?! šŸ˜‚

Go there one day and contact the police asking them for assistance to safely move about an illegally parked vehicle. Iā€™ve known people in wheelchairs to do this and the police have helped.

Also, contact all of the councillors, not just council officers. And then complain about the council officer that ignored your original complaint. Again, it is illegal for safety reasons, so to not take this seriously is a concern.

Lack of respect for the footpath is disgraceful. Almost 20% of Australians are disabled, whether permanent or temporary, and then you have elderly people, or those that require the footpath to be clear for things like prams or even shopping buggies or suitcases.

      Donā€™t waste the policeā€™s time

Do you think they donā€™t have enough to do rather than ā€œhelpā€ the OP move around a parked car?

      • +3

This isnā€™t a waste of the policeā€™s time. This, for a lot of people, is a legitimate matter of safety. If people are forced to somehow get to the road (no idea how if the driveway isnā€™t available to safely get down to road level) and then use the actual traffic lane to get around, with vehicles using the road, that is extremely unsafe.

Yes. They even created a non emergency police line.

  • Be careful OP you might release another psycho !

  • Georgeā€™s River LGA? Common man, thatā€™s pretty much in Bikie heartland. You know what you need to do (just hope he isnā€™t one)

  • I got tipped off by a farking neighbor about that as well, but not parked in footpath but parked opposite traffic for a short while, so I tipped off another car parked in the footpath the other day to see if the useless council will act. They didn't. Farking useless council, incompetent m0rons, no consistency.
