Site Display Issues in Brave 1.48.1

I've been using Brave (iOS) to access OzB for months, with no issues. From this morning I can't see usernames, votes or other features. I've cleared cache etc, logged in & out with no luck. Seems to work fine in Chrome. Any clues what's going on here?

        Absolutely, that's how it normally appears on iOS (all browsers). I'm using Chrome on a desktop for this session and it's obviously fine as I can reply.

    Oh yeah… logged in this morning on my iPad and yes, I can’t see who is making the comments, and there is no way to reply, report or anything.

    I can see votes though, and make votes.

    Edit: the only thing I can see is the “edit” button on my own comment…

      OK, well glad I'm not the only one. I was hoping someone with webdev skills might be able to shed some light.

    We are able to reproduce that on iOS with Brave 1.48. However Brave 1.49 on Android appears to be working fine. AFAIK Brave on iOS is using something like Slim List for content filtering, and somehow the current version filters out the username elements on OzBargain pages. It's not something we've done that breaks Brave. So you can either

    • Wait for a week for iOS update. Slim List updates once a week so maybe Brave would correct the issue next week.
    • Turn off Brave Shields on OzBargain. If you don't want to see ads on OzBargain you can turn it off from the settings page.
    • Use a different browser on iOS.
    • Use a different OS / phone / device.

        Also found that you can click on Brave Shields icon when you are on OzBargain, and turn off "Block Cross-Site Tracker" — username will be shown afterwards. Not sure why it was causing issues.
