    • did someone mention free.. sign me up… you should have set up a free hep vaccine and posted it up a few days ago.. too late now.

  • I would have thought that with the negative publicity recently they might have made the offer a bit wider, after all it was a national news event:

    http://www.news.com.au/business/your-business/warning-over-s…

The bit that grosses me out is:
"Hepatitas is a viral infection of the liver when faecal matter enters the mouth"

    Errrgh!

(In case your wondering why the two for one offer is made).

"Hepatitas is a viral infection of the liver when faecal matter enters the mouth"

It's weird that the risk was posed…

My guess is that they filmed the guy on camera doing something unsavoury

    • There's no indication the employee did anything that would increase the risk of infection, however the seriousness of the disease and the potential for large scale transmission meant the employee could not continue working.

  • Yeah thats pretty much put me off my closest sumo salad, theres another one in the CBD under westfield myer (about a 5min walk from the kent st one)

I debated posting this offer based on the Hep A story but NSW Food Authority determined that there was no further risk of infection.

    • No problem with the post, the company appears to ahve taken appropriate action, but also good to know the backstory.

      • If they fired that person based on the fact they have Hep A alone, that might be discrimination. I suspect that it was probably found out because of bad hygene practises but I don't know.

    2 girls 1 cup/salad?

  • hepatitas A is nothing like hepatitas C so do not get the 2 confused. As the article links above states:

"People who have already received Hepatitis A vaccine or have had the disease would already be immune and will not need an injection.

"There is no specific treatment for Hepatitis A but the illness resolves after several days or weeks.''

Hep C is something you should be very very very careful to avoid.
