  • Whats the best accessory to get with this deal?

  • too good to pass; seeing that this might be the last super amoled tablet ever.

  • actually super amoled is becoming more popular, motorola and toshiba has it also. And oled is just around the corner.

  • Good deal, just ordered with no trouble. Thank you.

  • Damn, my tab 7.7 32gb was made in vietnam instead of korea! Does it mean it is not an Australian stock?

  • Sorry for noob question, is this upgradable to ICS?

    • Doesn't look like the ICS update for Australia is out yet, but it'll come.

    • Or if you are willing to flash ICS yourself. Very easy process.

  • Just be careful of any payment charges. I used AMEX as it didn't come up with anything on the payment page and got hit with a $10 surcharge! LOL! Double check the last (review) screen before placing the order for any additional charges.

  • Nice deal. Tried to order one after lunch but the site showed Out of stock. Thought the deal finished until I saw juslookin post. Went to the site again and this time I could place the order for one.

  • Rep - could you please give us an idea when delivery can be expected?

    • Yeah I'd love to know delivery times as well!!

      • I got an email this afternoon saying it had shipped… AU post.

        • x2

        • no shipping confirmation yet… m itching for it…!!

  • Got mine in Vic just now.

The charger is different to my Officeworks one though. The OW charger has a USB port and you use the USB data cable plugged into that. This mobileciti one has the cable permanently attached to the charger, plus a separate USB data cable in the package. They are both made in Korea. I much prefer the USB charger, I thought they weren't allowed to make proprietary chargers anymore?

    • They changed it recently. The Harvey Norman one also has the permanently-attached cord.

I think they must have heard everyone complaining about the very short charging cable. Dunno why they didn't just suppply a longer USB cable instead.

    • stumo, did you order in the morning?

      • Around 1pm.

    • I actually prefer the permanently attached adapter - the cable is much longer and no chance of it slipping out of the USB port.

      • USB cables/extensions are a dime a dozen. Proper 2A chargers are hard to find outside of expensive genuine accessories. This nice charger can only be used with this tab, whereas the USB charger can be used on pretty much anything, long after the tablet has been lost/damaged/retired.

    • My 7.7 from Officeworks also had a USB charger with detachable cord. Interesting that there is different types.

  • Anyone know where this tab can be updated to ICS via Samsung Kies yet?

    • +1

I updated to ICS using the guide at the following address: (It is the UK version of ICS).

      http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-tab-7-7-gt-p6810-upgrā€¦

It worked perfectly on my Tab 7.7 (Bought from office works) and only took about 15-20 mins. (I'm fairly new to Android, and didn't have any troubles working out the 'technical bits' of this update).

Just follow this guide and enjoy ICS!

  • Damn it, I keep missing the 7.7 tab deals… the accessories look good, but that 30% off would be amazing.

  • I got one today as well, had to pick up from the post office. The post office lady was annoying as hell, insisting to see identification with address on it although I picked up there all the time. Says that's new policy.

  • Urgh wrong keyboard dock delivered… and even worse it's the more expensive 10.1 dock but obviously incompatible with the 7.7!

    • Let us know how it all pans out.

    • Should still work?

    • Don't think it will. It may fit but someone said that not all the keys map correctly.

Have to trek to the post office and send it back sigh

  • Received my tablet today and the excited lasted 3mins when I notice fine lines running across the screen. Called up MobileCiti and the lady on the phone suggested I called Samsung Customer Care! (failed). I said fine so spoke to Samsung and they said since the issue is a manufacturing fault and it is less than 30 days old, I should speak to Mobileciti and ask for an exchange of the tablet. Called MobileCiti back and spoke to a guy whom then advise me to email them with my issue. Let's see how good they really are with after-sales service.

    • sorry to hear that, I've once received a 3D monitor without the glasses in it (sold by shopping express). Went to loops of troubles and finally gave up. I really wished the retailer should deal with it instead of relying on Samsung.

      • They've issued me an RMA number and I'm sending my faulty unit back to them. Hoping they could send out a replacement asap. Should I be seeking reimbursement for the postage cost?

        • Yes I say you should be reimbursed for return shipping, it's a DOA unit.

I'm very interested in how this turns out, so far I'm not impressed with how you've been treated. This is the real test of how good a retailer is, not how cheap or quickly they ship etc.

        • Receive a reply from Mobileciti regarding reimbursing the cost of return shipping and here is their response:

"Unfortunately for all return postage buyer is going to carrier out. We would responsible for the postage back to you.

          thank you. "

I have replied back stating that I posted the unit back on the same day I received it so it's not like it has been 'used' or a day old. It's DOA unit!.

        • Make sure you keep fighting for your rights Stevo, although I'm not sue where the law stands on this issue. You may be SOL, even though its poor form on their part.

So if all else fails then you should slap them down next time they post a deal on here. Give them a refresher course in the real power of social media.

        • +1

Well.. the argument would be, even if you bought it from a store and had to return it, you're paying for your own petrol to go to the store - you don't ask the shop to pay for your petrol.

        • It depends the care factor/assurance the merchant provides to customers. I previously bought a handbag from HandbagsNThings listed on OB and had to return it as it was not satisfactory and they happily reimbursed my postage cost. I understand it's not their fault that the unit is defect. More importantly, I'm aching to receive my replacement unit asap.

        • Yeah, I returned something to COTD, postage was paid for by them. Good stuff. I wouldn't expect every store to do it though, as I can see how it could affect them negatively. I'll have a higher chance of buying again from stores that do, of course.

        • I don't expect every store to do it but I do if they are reaping the benefits from OB community. It's a goodwill and on a case by case.

        • Nows your chance Stevo, let em have it…

  • Received mine. Happy. Posted via Aupost, Express.

  • Duplicate.

  • I haven't received mine as yet, and somebody can clarify as to whether it's included in the box or not, but there's a compatible dock to usb host connector on the Meritline daily deals page today for $1.99. As there is no usb port on the tab itself I've bought one just in case, if only as a replacement.
DLNA compatibility notwithstanding there's also a new release MHL adapter on the page that unlike most has a long (1.8 metre) cable with an HDMI plug instead of a socket at the business end. I've bought one of those too. Reviews of seemingly identical unit on DX are all good and confirm 1080p output. Some MHL adapters are only good for only 720p and was seeking to confirm given the contradictory blurb on Meritline.

  • Have others had problems with mobileciti ignoring email and support requests?
I am concerned about purchasing from them if this is the case…

    • May need to cut them a little slack. They sold more than 300 of these the other day, not including accessories. Lots of work to do fulfilling orders.

      • How much slack is a little?
        They still haven't responded :-(

  • Did anyone received a Tax Invoice with their tablet? I couldn't find it my inbox nor was it in the post.

  • anybody got one want to sell?
