  • Promotion code is not valid

Or is the code only valid upon booking?

    • yes, at the check out

  • Booked a van for a tip trip. Thanks OP

    Thanks OP!
For any unused credit, can you still keep it in your account?

    • Yes, the balance will remain in your account if you don't spend the full $100.

Thank OP. Had a car booked for this week. Cancelled and rebooked with the code. 😁

    Easter’s over OP

  • Will this cover mileage as well as car hire cost or just the day rate of the vehicle?

    • +1

Doesn't cover mileage , here's my cost and discount breakup for an upcoming trip next week

      4 days booking - 170.52
      Booking fee - 6.99
      Basic Cover - 17.05
      Discount applied - 194.56

So I'll only be charged the per km fees .

I used UCS134 for 200$ off 1st time booking for new users

      • are you sure it doesn't cover mileage?

I used the $200 code for a car for one day - it deducted $70 in discounts. So the $130 I have remaining won't cover my milage when I actually rent the car?

        • +2

The $130 should be in your driving credits balance and will be used to pay your distance charge once the trip is complete.

        • I can confirm it doesnt include mileage.

@fomal: Well thats incorrect info. Just finished by booking, and it used the credit. Did not cost me anything.

          • @fomal: Can confirm it does.

        • Awesome sauce ! My booking is this weekend so that's good to know

Seems pretty expensive, well for my scenario anyway. That per/km cost is a real killer. I am looking to hire a car monthly to drive to the countryside and back (about 260km return). An example on this site is a 2015 Corolla for $89 a day and 39c per km plus premium insurance works out to around $200. The same size car/insurance level is about $140 from europcar.

    • Agree.

If you are going to travel more than 200km/day, I wouldnt recommend using uber carshare.

    • +1

Probably cheaper to rent from a regular car hire place with unlimited km but keep in mind that Uber reimburse you in full for petrol costs which offsets the per km charge a lot.

    • +2

Consider Turo as well, they give you flat rate for approx 300kms a day to drive.

This app is terrible. Car next door worked so well, now the app is glitchy as (profanity), crashes all the time, misplaces car locations

    • +1

Agreed. Ever since the app change over, the taking/uploading condition photos part is a buggy mess.

  • +1

    Credit check required. No thanks.

    • +1

…under CarNextDoor, you had to take a full frontal photo
holding your driving license and submit that to create your account.

Now, Uber has gotten all that information

  • I booked a car but no confirmation is received yet

  • you've got to be very careful booking cars with uber since they took over carnextdoor. they have hidden "surge" rates on weekends. they advertise "from $x/hr or $y/day" but do not display the surge rates. very misleading.

  • Anyone know when the credits expire?

    • I think it was the end of May.
