Special Gift Card - How to Put The Gift Card onto App Store Balance?

Hi,

First time trying this gift card.

I got the "tech head" gift card and I could spend this in Apple.

I have added this to my apple wallet. However I can't add this to my apple store credit.

If anyone has similar experience and know how does it work. Please let me know. Thanks.

If that does not work, you can try to purchase an Apple gift card through the Apple website and then apply that Apple gift card to your Apple Account Associated Balance.

Failing that, you could go to a physical JB Hi-Fi store and attempt to purchase an Apple gift card using your Special gift card. However, keep in mind that JB Hi-Fi only sells $20, $30, $50, $100 and $200 Apple gift cards in their physical stores.

I am not sure whether the Tech Head gift card would work on some online gift card portals (e.g. Prezzee, Shopback, Card.Gift), because I do not know what the permitted merchant category codes (MCCs) are for the Tech Head gift card, but it could be worth a shot.

You’ll need to add it to your wallet (as if it’s a credit/debit card) then use it to top up your account balance from the App Store. It’s a prepaid card restricted to a MCC not a gift card that can be applied straight to your balance.
