San Martin Watch - Bronze Tuna in Black US$126.35 (~A$190) @ San Martin Official Store AliExpress

SALE003Q88

I've had my eyes on the San Martin bronze tuna watch for some time now. It looks like there is a clearance sale on at the moment which gets it within the zone of temptation!

Watch = US$202.86
Tax = +US11.49
Store coupon SALE003Q88 = -US$88
= US$126.35

Reviews for this watch are good and it allegedly it has a Seiko NH36 movement, which makes this great value. Note that the bronze will gather a patina over time - there are plenty of blog posts about how to speed this up. My verdict is that it's best to leave to the hands of time, otherwise you may end up with a green monstrosity.

Enjoy! :)

P.S. don't forget cash back.

    • That coupon code expired. Now there’s a new coupon code so I reposted it.

        You haven't listed the coupon code in the coupon section.

    Beware it is 15mm thick. Thats even worse than Seiko! That sort of thickness bound to make it heavy

      I think they were going for the SBBN017 MM300 which was 14.7mm thick but "only" 46mm diameter. They even got the typeface mostly right and the border around the day/date (unlike the SBBN03X). Except the real thing had a quartz movement, domed hardlex and was never made in bronze. And was made for actual real diving.

      Check out the 1000m versions. They are huge. That's why they're called Tunas, because they looked like tuna cans.

    Bronze buckle on those straps too. Very cool

    In my personal opinion, this watch is pretty fugly.

      It's almost like people have different tastes. Maybe this one is more to your liking.

      • nah I reckon he's more of a Richard Mille guy

      • r/ATBGE subreddit would love this

        Yeah just putting the IMO, because a lot of people on the net these days don't seem to understand not everyone has the same taste and opinions as them. As someone else said, that watch is definitely r/ATBGE. It's very well made, but also pretty fugly. I recently ordered this one, and can't wait for it to arrive.

  • Just get a real solar tuna, lighter and thinner, keeps better time.

    • It’s not available in bronze that I’m aware of.

      • Yes but I mean the real ones. They are pretty cool, not just cosmetic/bling (and would prefer Solar Quartz to be honest in these).

        As mentioned these homages and the steeldive ones are very thick and heavy.

        A bronze oris divers sixty-five would be nice.. or that style.

      • If you've got cash to burn and aesthetics matters, then Tunas are highly customisable.
        Plenty of spare parts and modders who can do it for you.

      Chrisopher Ward makes some nice bronze watches.Not in the San Martin price bracket, obviously, but not outside the realms of financial possibility either.

      Make mine a C60 Trident, thanks.

    • Something like this looks good in bronze, and cronos are very good quality (style based on the divers sixty-five), I'd probably change the strap or get an additional one etc.
