Looking for Credit Card with Bonus QFF Points - Quickest/Easiest Approval?

Hey all,

I am looking to cancel my AMEX, and looking for a Qantas Bonus Point Credit Card.

I prefer something with $2,000-$3,000 min SPEND, as I have some big spends in May and I'm heading to Europe for a month.(I doubt I use it in Europe)
However, I would consider a higher min spend, as I have to pay a Draftsman soon(Unsure if they take CC)

I am wondering what card at the moment has the most streamline quickest approval application? I don't mind if only 60-80k bonus points.

I figure once I return from Europe, I can cancel it and look for a new card! I've had my AMEX for years, I haven't flipped for a long time since I use to focus on Krisflyer but now turning to Qantas as Krisflyer points expiry and it's difficult building them up up within 3 years.

Open to VFF if anything out there, but really just want something I can apply for tonight or tomorrow and be approved instantly and have a card ASAP.(I've never been rejected in the past)

Thank you!

    • Doesn't really answer my question, some banks take longer or are more difficult when it comes to approvals.

I am wondering if any are really quick & simple.

ANZ took weeks for me to get approval in the past etc

      • ANZ are slow, I think citi can be slow too.

  • Points won’t be approved before then

    • I'm not fussed about when points are approved, but generally in the past I have had them come through really quickly.

  • The fastest turnaround I've ever seen was with a NAB credit card. Applied online, got approved within 2 minutes, received the card in a few days. Maybe it was that quick because I used to be their customer in the past, not sure. With any other bank it takes a few weeks to get an approval. ANZ is the worst as they may reject without any explanation whatsoever. The longest approval was with Westpac. They delayed processing the application for 2 months with no specific reason and did 3 credit checks during that time thus reducing my credit score, what are idiots.

    • Yeah, ANZ is horrible.

I will look into NAB, I haven't held one for a long time.

Lodge a query with ANZ re the credit checks, it's in their power to remove two of them if you only applied for one product and provided everything when requested at the start. If they won't do it, then lodge a dispute with Equifax, and advise them that you only applied for one product but three credit checks were done. They can get the surplus two removed, although it takes time as they need to go back to ANZ about it for confirmation first.

NAB was the quickest for me.

  • Qantas Premier Platinum is the fastest

  • Westpac QF Black was painless for me which is surprising given how clunky the rest of their stuff is. They needed to confirm my income but aside from that it was two weeks from initial approval to card in hand. 90k points, 6k spend in 120 days, $150 annual fee if you’re a Westpac customer + $50 reward program fee
