Best Heater for WFH in The Living Room in Melborune

Hi all,

What will be your suggestion for a heater to be used in the living room right next to my working desk. I don't need to heat up the whole room just want to keep myself warm.
We got a Braemar heating system at home, but apparently it's either on for the whole house (zoning doesn't seem to work) or off so I guess it will just suck up too much gas.

Thanks!!

Electric throw or a hot water bottle will be the least expensive options by a long way.
R/C aircon if you must heat the whole room.

After those, all the options are similarly costly.

    • Those won't keep your finger from freezing, need a heated keyboard on top of that too.

If you own the home, what about a split system? It's one of the most energy efficient ways to heat and cool a room. Especially with gas prices being what they are.

  • An Oil column heater does a wonderful job too in a confined space.
Can find a cheap one on marketplace too.

    • I use the same when WFH, one oil column heater close by and the room is closed to prevent the warm air of the room from escaping.

  • We have a similar issue with our study which is located in a west facing room and is quite cold even now.

I bought this Goldair radiant heater which heats up the study surprisingly fast. I'm not sure how it would go as a spot heater in a larger room.

  • You do realise that some idiot in marketing will now create a SPECIFIC wfh heater at triple the normal price but a 25% discount if you sign up.
