Best Mobile Phone Sim Only Plan

Hi All,

What is the best value sim only plan going around at the moment. I live in Adelaide, and rarely go into the sticks, so Telstra is not a requirement.

Need to have atleast 50gb data a month, unlimited talk and text. Bonus if international calling but not necessary.

I am currently with Vodafone, and getting 300gb a month paying only 15$ a month however the discount is scheduled to expire next month, and they wont replicate the deal.

They offered a 20% discount on the current sim only plans which are the following:

$36 - 40gbs
$44 - 150gbs

Any help is appreciated.

    Kogan XL 365 - 500gb for 199$.

Can anyone confirm that if i opt for the 40gb per month, and i go over it, ill have no data and not be able to use the internet? Or would it still work but at capped speeds

    • If 40GB is reached before 30 days has elapsed, access to data will cease until the beginning of the next data 30 day block (if any), or the customer recharges or purchases a data pack. Data sessions are rounded to the nearest KB. 1GB = 1024MB.

I'd just take the whole 500GB, try be a little frugal and recharge whenever you run out. Still works about $20 a month if you burn through it all in 10 months.

  • Like you I'm on a plan that's not currently available ($40/200GB/4G).

For my parents I usually grab one of JB's new handset on a plan with data every 2yrs on a deal, sell the handset, deposit the money into the bill, then setup an auto payment for 2yrs for ~$20/120GB/month.

Bit of a small effort but it's the most affordable way I've found. Of course timing don't align up perfectly at end of 2yrs but you know what I mean.

  • Depends on how much data you actually need a month?

I'm with Circles life on the 100gb plan currently paying $35

I made this spreadsheet just the other day which compares all the sim only plans from the value providers on the market. There may be some i've missed so i've made it editable if anyone wants to add any.

    • Great spreadsheet. Thank you :-)

    • Why is Coles mobile having $240 cashback? Never heard of it.
