Faulty ShopBack Amazon Gift Card

Purchased a $30 Amazon Gift Card from shopback 2 months ago now. Faulty and unredeemable. Provided evidence to shopback as requested by them, whom have apparently contacted amazon who have not responded to shopback.

Over 30 back and forth emails and still counting. Receiving generic replies from customer service "Harry" along the lines of "still waiting for a response from the store".

Have been in touch with GYB to chase this up but haven't heard back recently. Feels like shopback have stolen $30 from me and there's nothing that can be done?

Anyone else had a similar experience with shopback? Never had these issues with cashrewards in the past.

  • Purchased a lot of Amazon gift cards from them and never had an issue.

Did you redeem it very soon after buying or was it a while between purchase and attempted redemption?

    • Immediately attempted to redeem. Have purchased and successfully redeemed many others with no issues. It is strange but the way shopback has handled it seems subpar

  • I've never had issues with purchasing over 1k total in gift cards on Shopback for Amazon, I usually redeem my gift cards straight away and the remaining just stays as credit in my account. What's the error it's coming up with?

    • It actually goes to an Amazon error page "uh oh something went wrong at our end" every time attempting to redeem this card. Have tried multiple devices

      • I'm sure you're aware but the formatting sometimes is screwy, have you tried manually entering the code? If that still fails I've had Amazon chat support all the gift card for me when all else fails. They can still add it somehow

  • The only issue I've had with Amazon gift cards from Shopback is that sometimes they take over an hour to receive the code, rather than the usual within a minute or so.

Given the error message, you might also want to try reaching out to Amazon support as well?

    • Have done this and was told to contact issuer…sad days
